It's been known for some time that a new hero would be joining the roster of Overwatch 2 called "Space Ranger," but now Blizzard has officially revealed the new hero by her official name, Juno. This new hero will be part of the Support roster, but based on her reveal trailer, she's far more than just a healer.

Let's dive into the details surrounding the release of Juno in Overwatch 2 and discuss what we know so far about her abilities, how she's likely to impact the game overall, and when exactly she will be dropping into Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Reveals New Support Hero Juno And Her Abilities

The most recent video uploaded to Overwatch 2's official YouTube Channel and in the game itself revealed the arrival of our latest Support Hero, Juno. Her appearance and characteristics feel similar to Mei (personality-wise especially), as she wields a pistol-style weapon that fires healing orbs, but more akin to Ana, her weapon's primary fire both heals allies and damages enemies.

The trailer also showcases some of her abilities, and thanks to the detailed image shared on the official Twitter page for the game, we do have a general overview of what each one does. So let's break them down below as stated by the developers:

Juno Weapons And Ultimate

  • Mediblaster (Primary Fire) - Burst fire weapon that heals allies and damages enemies.
  • Pulsar Torpedoes (Secondary Fire) - Press Secondary Fire to lock on, then Primary Fire to fire homing projectiles. Heals allies over time and damages enemies.
  • Orbital Ray (Ultimate) - Call down a ray that travels forward, healing allies and increasing their damage.

Juno Abilities

  • Glide Boost - Glide horizontally with increased movement speed.
  • Hyper Ring - Deploy a ring that increases the movement speed of allies that pass through it.
  • Martian Overboots (Passive) - While airborne, press Jump to double jump and hold Jump to hover.

If you're as excited as we are to become possible Juno mains, then you're in luck as she drops during a hero trial this weekend for a limited time from July 19 until July 21 on all platforms. Once we know more about Juno's abilities (numbers and effects) as well as her backstory, we'll be sure to update you all accordingly with a detailed breakdown of her character and how best to play her. But for now, be sure to try her out in the hero trials starting on July 19, and we'll see you all there!
