The arrival of Season 10 in Overwatch 2 has brought with it tons of new and exciting features such as the new Mirrorwatch game mode, as well as the new DPS hero Venture. Unfortunately, for tanks, it's been a hard couple of weeks as the new DPS passive buffs have made life hell for tank players, but it seems our cries have been answered.
The developers have revealed plans for the mid-season update for Overwatch 2, and it will include buffs for tank heroes such as Ball, Junker Queen, and other heroes, which aim to bring some balance back into the meta. So without further delay, let's discuss the changes we expect to see in the mid-season update for Season 10 of Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2's mid-season patch introduces buffs for Junkrat, Wrecking Ball, Junker Queen, and other heroes
In just two weeks, on May 14th, Overwatch 2 is set to receive its mid-season update, promising a series of reworks primarily aimed at enhancing the survivability of tank heroes. These adjustments include reduced headshot damage, decreased knockback, and added self-healing capabilities, as revealed by Game Director Aaron Keller in a recent blog post.
Keller details the changes in the patch, focusing on adjustments for all tank roles, but specifically noted changes for Junker Queen and Wrecking Ball, alongside some modifications for other DPS heroes. Junker Queen's Commanding Shout will receive a significant boost, allowing it to activate even during other ability channels like Rampage or Carnage, along with a reduced cooldown of 12 seconds.
Wrecking Ball will also see improvements once again after his recent rework. His fully-charged Grappling Claw damage increases from 50 to 60, and the duration of enemy movement restriction extends by 0.25 seconds. Additionally, his Minefield ultimate will get an increased explosion damage from 130 to 165 and enhanced knockback from 5 to 10 meters.
Keller also hinted at slight buffs for Junkrat, Echo, and Hanzo, without delving into specifics, leaving players eager for further details. Overall, the upcoming update on May 14th promises much-needed balance for tank heroes and a welcomed boost for DPS heroes, suggesting that the tank meta might still hold strong in Overwatch 2 Season 10.
