Earning Gold and Jade weapons in Overwatch 2 has always been an achievement that pushes players to give their absolute best in every match. Now, with the massive changes introduced in Season 15, there’s a new weapon skin to grind for - Galactic weapons. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to get your hands on the new Galactic weapons in Overwatch 2.

How to Unlock the Galactic Weapons in OW2

Galactic weapons can be unlocked by purchasing them for 3,000 Competitive Points from the Hero Gallery. You’ll find them in the same menu as the Gold and Jade weapons. At first, they might not seem purchasable, but that’s because you’ll need to have the required points for the purchase option to appear.

Coming in at 3,000 Comp Points, it’s a pricey investment for most casual players, but the stunning details and cosmetic design of these skins make them well worth it, though getting them for every hero in the game would take over 100,000 points.

Tips For Getting Competitive Points

If you need tips on earning Competitive Points, the best method is simple: keep playing Competitive. Even if you lose, you’ll still make progress. Each win gives you 10 points, and a draw grants 5, but losses give nothing. So, playing five matches and winning three - even if you lose two  - still nets you 15 points, which makes it more efficient than worrying about rank drops in the short term.

For seasoned players with a consistent rank, waiting until the end of the season might be preferable, as you’ll earn bonus points when the season concludes. Grinding close to 3,000 points before the end and letting the bonus top you off is a great way to save yourself some extra effort.

Of course, there are plenty of other skins and weapon cosmetics available through the Battle Pass and seasonal drops, but if you’re serious about the competitive grind, working towards a Galactic weapon is recommended in this latest season of Overwatch 2.
