Overwatch 2 is well-known for its various collaborations with other game franchises, TV shows, and even brands like Porsche. These partnerships typically bring new, themed skins to the game. However, a recent collaboration may not feature the expected skins.

Fans have seen previews of what these skins might have looked like and have expressed a strong desire to see them implemented in the game. Despite the enthusiasm, Blizzard’s decision will ultimately determine whether these skins make it into Overwatch 2. Let’s explore the details of this collaboration and why fans are eager for new skins.

Overwatch 2's RED Tokyo Tower Collaboration Unveils Exclusive Hero Designs That Fans Are Eager to See as Skins

As recently announced, Overwatch 2 has teamed up with RED Tokyo Tower, a popular Japanese digital theme park, leading to a wave of new promotional material. This collaboration includes various characters sporting new outfits and skins, as well as merchandise available at Tokyo Tower such as T-shirts, buttons, posters, desk mats, and other fan items.

Despite the excitement around Season 12, which features a new Mythic Reaper skin, Egyptian-themed skins for other heroes, and the return of OWL skins, these new RED Tokyo Tower collaboration skins will unfortunately not be featured in Overwatch 2.

This news has sparked discussions among fans on the Overwatch Subreddit, where many expressed their desire to see these skins in the game, even though they acknowledge it may not happen. As one user noted, "I hope we get in-game skins too. Those designs look good. We probably won’t though." So while it's unlikely these skins will be added, fans would eagerly embrace these skins if they were.

There is still a possibility that Blizzard might consider these designs for future updates, possibly with adjustments to fit their design philosophy. For now, fans can only hope that Blizzard takes note of the enthusiasm for these skins and incorporates similar designs into Overwatch 2 at a later date.
