If you’re on a popular server in New World, then you’ve undoubtedly experienced a chat that goes so fast you can’t keep up with any current message thread. The chat on these servers goes extremely quick and can be overly annoying if you’re simply trying to sit back and complete a quest or navigate the world for materials.
For many players, they think that the chat is an immovable feature of New World that they’re just going to learn to have to deal with. However, there is a way to remove the chat completely or filter it so you can only see a certain thread of messages.
Below, fans can see exactly how to do this and mute/filter the chat in New World.
Muting the chat in New World
To start, you need to hit “Esc” to bring up the game’s settings menu. From here, you can look at the bottom left of the screen to see various chat options appear. There will be several options for you to choose from. These are the filters that you can sift through to adjust the chat to your liking.
If you want to mute the chat entirely, then click on the Feed to highlight it and then click the settings cog. This will make another menu appear, where you can click on various options to mute them. To mute the chat entirely, then you need to press the mute option on “Global.” This will stop all messages from appearing from the general population of the server.
To stop seeing any messages, simply hit mute on all of the options available on the menu. Now, you have a fully adjusted chat that you can tinker with at your leisure.
