When you get rolling in MLB The Show 24 Road to the Show, it can be frustrating when the position you'd chosen from the beginning isn't quite working out. RTTS is a long-term journey, and if you're facing hiccups early it might be better to start fresh. Here, we'll explain how to change position in MLB The Show 24 RTTS and when you should just start a completely new save.
How to Change Position in MLB The Show 24 RTTS
If you're looking to change position in MLB The Show 24 Road to the Show, the likelihood of being able to do that is heavily impacted by your existing player type and where you're at in that save. The easiest time changing positions in RTTS will go to anyone who's using a Two-Way Player build, and that's especially true early on.
While the manager will frequently check in on Position and Pitcher builds to give you attribute boosts, the manager check-in for a Two-Way Player is often more about altering your positional focus. As shown above, you can choose to change to just being a pitcher or go with the "different balance of duties" option.
If you choose that dialogue, you'll be able to easily swap between Starting Pitcher and Closing Pitcher (or vice versa) and get to change your fielding position. This same opportunity can pop up early when your agent calls, and choosing the "not so sure about my two-way player roles" dialogue you can then setup a Manager meeting to make the change.
Unfortunately, those who want to play solely at a position (and those already at a position who want to change it) will have better luck simply restarting Road to the Show with a new save. This can be frustrating if you've invested time in a save, but if your position is not fun then building up to make a change can be time-consuming and ultimately leave you heading to other modes for a better experience.
While you might have slightly better luck switching from Starting Pitcher to Closer, asking to change position only pops up with your agent if you started as a Position build. Even when that chance arrives, you'll likely be told the time isn't right and you need to keep working. Improving your team standing might give you a better chance, but that's a grind better spent starting out a new MLB The Show 24 Road to the Show save with your preferred position.
