Twitch Rivals Lando Norris Minecraft Invitational: Schedule, players, format, prize pool and how to watch

What Formula 1, Twitch streaming, and Minecraft have in common? Lando Norris, of course!

A young F1 star has been an avid gamer his whole life, and over the last couple of years, he has been building a streaming career in parallel with the career of a Formula 1 driver.

And while he is mostly known for playing sim racing games, he also enjoys playing all kinds of other genres, and like a lot of young gamers of his age, he grew up playing Minecraft, the legendary survival game.

To celebrate his passion, he is teaming up with Twitch Rivals to present the first-ever Lando Norris Minecraft Invitational.

The tournament will see 4 teams, including one featuring Lando himself, competing in three minigames that are being designed specifically for this event.

This whole tournament sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun to watch, and if you agree, here's everything you need to know about it.

Lando Norris Invitational is a 1-day event, which will be held on 3rd March

The event will start at 10 pm CET / 4 pm ET / 1 pm PT.

Twitch Rivals Lando Norris Minecraft Invitational Format

The tournament will feature four teams that will play unique Minecraft minigames, designed for this event, and will earn points based on their results. The exact point system is yet to be announced.

• Minigame 1: The Walls - the teams are separated with four huge walls before they must attempt to destroy one another's core using TNT.
• Minigame 2: Boat Racing - the teams compete on a closed-circuit ice track with various traps.
• Minigame 3: Bow Bash - The teams must fire arrows at one another from aerial platforms, in a last-team-standing battle.

Finals

• The top-2 teams in points will advance to the Finals.
• The Finals will be a Bo3 match, each game being a different minigame plus a new game: TNT Dash.

The event will feature 100 content creators and celebrities split into 4 teams of 25 players.

Some of the already announced players are motorsport content creators Steve “SuperGT” Alvarez Brown, Aarava “The AaravaTV” Amin, and FIFA content creator FIFA creator Niran “FNG” Yesufu, as well as Formula 1 stars like Red Bull Racing reserve driver Alex Albon and Road to F1 star Max Fewtrell.

Twitch Rivals Lando Norris Minecraft Invitational prize pool

Lando Norris Minecraft Invitational is a charity event with a $25,000 USD charity prize pool.

Each team will be supporting one charity each, based on their results:

• 1st: $10,000
• 2nd: $7,500
• 3rd: $5,000

It has been revealed that Norris’ team is partnering with Mind, the mental health charity which is working together with McLaren (Lando's team) since the start of the 2020 F1 Season, while the charities of other teams are yet to be announced.
