Marvel Snap's "The Amazing Spider-Season" reaches its brand new week, signaling another prominent Spider person leaving the SpiderVerse for the universe of the card battler game. The next card release introduces Aña "Anya" Sofia Corazon / Araña to Snappers as a character with mystical web abilities, which sees her generate an armor to protect her allies and loved ones from harm.
Quite similar to her comic book portrayals, Araña will be protecting key cards from being targeted or destroyed by moving them out of harm's way, but it will demand them to "Activate" her ability before it can be used. This webbing guide details everything about the newest Spider person joining Marvel Snap in Araña, including her car ability, key synergies, and some early decks to try at her release.
Marvel Snap Araña Card Abilities Explained
Aña "Anya" Sofia Corazon was like most teenagers in Marvel Comics, having an active student life and was a training gymnast from New York; however, her father's work as an investigative reporter has placed the family in jeopardy following her mother's passing. Additionally, Aña eventually learns of her secret connection to the Spider Society Hunters through her mother; an unfortunate incident with a Spider Society member resulted in Aña becoming one of its Hunters and subsequently adopting an alias, Araña, which was her mother's maiden name.
Araña will be joining Marvel Snap in its current web-swingin' season, and upon the card's release, Araña is a one Cost and one Power card, which becomes the second card to launch with the new Activate ability. After Araña has been played, when activated, the card will "give the next card you play +2 Power and move" the card to the right location.
Like with Madame Web, Araña will be heavily spotlighted in Move decks but can also be featured in other suitable deck archetypes like Control and Lockdown. Snappers looking to acquire this card to add to their Collection can get Araña through the Spotlight Caches using Spotlight Keys or spend 6,000 Collector's Tokens at the Token Shop in-game.
Best Marvel Snap Araña Decks: Webbing Move
As we've previously mentioned, Araña's first and best synergistic archetype is the Move deck, and we can expect more Move decks to appear around her release. We can see Araña being paired up with key Move cards like Madame Web, Human Torch, Dagger, and Vulture, which these cards take center stage in this webbing deck.
This Madame Web-centric deck from Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper has Madame Web and Araña working in sync to get cards moving to locations and gain location priority. Cosmo has been factored into this deck to prevent potential Madame Web counters like Rogue and Enchantress, which Cosmo can eventually move away from in later turns.
The inclusion of Hercules ensures that each card moves per turn; specifically, Human, Torch, Dagger, and Vulture gain more Power when moved to Herc's location. And with Iron Fist and Ghost Spider added to help move these cards, they can return to their hand with Beast, or if they need a low-cost card with the same utility, Falcon can be swapped in.
Best Marvel Snap Araña Decks: Spider Locks
The Move archetype may be getting all the love and attention in the current "The Amazing Spider-Season" for Marvel Snap, but this deck type isn't the only archetype that will benefit from Araña's utility. Control and Lockdown decks have similar win conditions by restricting their opponents' play through specific cards or countering their opponents' plays or cards throughout the match.
This Lockdown deck from Marvel Snap content creator Ankh utilizes Storm as the main card for locking down a location at three Cost, although Professor X can be used but at a higher cost. Nebula and White Widow can be played at the Storm location before or after, and Legion can be played to copy the Flooded location at the remaining locations.
Having Araña at an adjacent location allows the card to move a random card and gives it +2 Power, which may help if they're losing priority. With War Machine's recent buff in the latest Patch update, Snappers can play their cards anyway as long as this Avenger is on the board.
Best Marvel Snap Araña Decks: Surfing The Web
Not only is Araña synergistic with Move and Lockdown archetypes, but her power buffing ability can be significantly maximized in Silver Silver decks. As this archetype relies on using key cards to buff Sebastian Shaw, like Nova, Okoye, Nakia, Gwenpool, and Silver Surfer, this deck adds a few cards that can help ensure their opponents don't gain priority at locations.
This surf-tastic deck from Marvel Snap content creator Docty plays like a fairly standard Silver Surfer deck featuring Nova, Forge, Silver Surfer, and Gwenpool to power core cards like Brood and Sebastian Shaw. Absorbing Man can be played to either copy Brood at another location, making them ideal targets for Silver Surfer later.
Hope Summers is another target for Silver Surfer, but it also ensures they can get some energy to spend these cards out on Harlan her turn, and Nocturne (or Magik) is utilized to restrategize their plays with a location change. Lastly, Red Guardian has been factored as a tech card to disrupt their opponent's play or remove an ability from their core card and is another Silver Surfer target once the card is played on the last turn.
