Honkai Star Rail is generating a lot of buzz, not only because of the company and the IP it is attached to but because the early release footage and beta gameplay look incredibly exciting. Unlike the popular title Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail does away with the open-world real-time-action combat style.
Instead, the game opts for a turn-based gameplay style and is described as "what if Genshin Impact was Epic Seven?" Several closed betas, release trailers, and pre-release footage have been revealed to the public, and this is only getting players more hyped up to play the game.
So, if you plan to go all out on Honkai Star Rail when it eventually releases, here's everything you need to know about the content revealed.

Honkai Star Rail Release Date
Unfortunately, Honkai Star Rail does not have a confirmed release date. There is also no news about whether the game will have a third closed beta.
Considering Genshin Impact had three closed betas before it was released, it is likely to expect this for Honkai Star Rail. The second closed beta for Honkai Star Rail ended on June 15, and after several trailers (including a spot at Summer Game Fest 2022), we still have no news.
Fans have been speculating that if the game decides to forego a third closed beta, Honkai Star Rail could see a release sometime before 2023. However, if the game does not come out before January, it will most likely be released on March 7th to coincide with one of the characters of the same name.
Honkai Star Rail Gameplay
As mentioned, Honkai Star Rail is a turn-based game with open-world elements. Players will still control their characters and be able to explore different areas (as opposed to tapping through menus), but the main combat will be akin to that of a traditional RPG.
Players will enter combat with several characters, each of which has its abilities and ultimate. Additionally, characters will have unique element types consisting of:
- Physical
- Fire
- Ice
- Lightning
- Wind
- Imaginary
- Quantum
