Genshin Impact 3.3 update has arrived and has brought Wanderer, aka Scaramouche, as a playable character in the game. Now, he calls himself Wanderer as he has no name and no home, and if this saddens you, HoYoverse is allowing you to give him a name of your choice. If you want to change Wanderer's name, here is how to do it.
How to Change Wanderer's Name in Genshin Impact
In order to change Wanderer's name, you will have to complete the Archon Quest Interlude: Inversion of Genesis. After that, he will ask you to give him a name, and you can enter his new name. However, keep in mind that you can't give him the name of a playable character and also can't enter a name by which he has been known before, although Barbatos is available.
If you enter a forbidden name, Wanderer will give you different responses, and here is a list of them.
- Scaramouche, Balladeer, Kunikuzushi, Kabukimono: …Hmph. I have no need for these names anymore.
- Playable Characters' Name or Paimon: That won't work.
- All Raiden Shogun's Names Except Ei: ...This is a bad idea.
- Fatui Harbingers' Name: You can't be serious, or Is this supposed to be your attempt at a joke?
- Morax and Traveler are unavailable.
However, you give him your own in-game name, and his response will be, "You want to share your name with me? Huh, not a bad choice."
After you have given him a new name, you will get An Appellative Stroke, a very special item that will let you rename him for the second time, but keep in mind that this will be your last chance to give him a new name, and after that, it's permanent.
In addition to this, not only Wanderer's name will be changed in quests after you rename him after completing the Archon quest, but if you own him as a playable character, his name will be changed as well.
