Is the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie Canon to the Games?

Is the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie Canon?

After he's fired, he finds a job as a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. During his time working there, he meets a police officer named Vanessa, who sticks with him as he meets unimaginable animatronic horrors.

This certainly sounds a lot like the plot of the games themselves, which also follow a character named Mike who works as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. It also includes other characters from the games, like Vanessa from Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. However, the movie also introduces new characters like Abby Schmidt, Mike's younger sister, who do not appear or get mentioned in the games. It'll be interesting to see how Abby's existence in the movie impacts the plot.
