Elder Scrolls Online has a massive world full of quests to complete, collectibles to find, loot to acquire, and more. Whichever activity you choose to indulge in, you will gain items, gear, and crafting materials that take space up in your inventory.
Much like any MMO RPG, your character's inventory space in ESO will be your biggest nemesis, especially in the early hours. Unfortunately, the game does little to nothing to explain how to increase your inventory space.
If you're struggling to manage your inventory, you're in the right place. Here's our guide explaining how to increase inventory space in ESO.
How do you get more inventory space in ESO?
There are two primary ways to increase your inventory space in ESO. As you might expect, one's more expensive but quicker, whereas the other is cheaper but slower.
The most expensive and quickest way to upgrade your inventory space in ESO is by purchasing backpack upgrades from pack merchants. You can find them in the main cities of almost every zone in the game.
Unlike other merchants, however, they are not marked on the map, so it might take a while until you come across one. Just look for someone surrounded by a bunch of sacks.
Every backpack upgrade will increase your inventory space by 10. You can increase your inventory space up to 140.
Here's how much each upgrade will cost you:
Inventory Space | Gold |
70 | 400 |
80 | 2000 |
90 | 5900 |
100 | 11000 |
110 | 19200 |
120 | 30700 |
130 | 46000 |
140 | 64500 |
The slower but cheaper alternative to increasing your inventory space in ESO is via mount upgrades.
There are three different types of mount upgrades in ESO:
- Speed
- Stamina
- Carrying Capacity
You can increase your character's carrying capacity up to 60 for the cost of 250 gold each though you can only buy one upgrade every day. You will have to wait 20 hours before you can get another mount upgrade in ESO. As mentioned above, this is a slower and cheaper way to increase your inventory space in ESO.
Stablemasters sell mount upgrades, and you can find them outside the main city of every zone in ESO. They are marked by the horse symbol and are rather easy to find.
And that's it! That concludes our guide on how to increase inventory space in Elder Scrolls Online.
