With each passing year it seems like sports games are getting bigger and bigger, the most notorious being NBA 2K which seems to balloon to astronomical size again and again. If you're eager to get College Football 25 on your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, the worry is 134 teams might mean just as massive a download. We'll go over the pleasantly reasonable College Football 25 download size here so you can ensure you've got enough space cleared.
How many gigs is College Football 25?
That's the big question, and fans can happily rejoice that College Football 25 is only about 27 to 32 GB depending on your platform. That's a far cry from the absurd 161.43 GB size players saw with NBA 2K24, and it's about half of what the 58.3 GB size from Madden 24.
On Xbox Series X|S, College Football 25 is just 32.4 GB. The PS5 version of College Football 25 is a hair more compact at around 27 GB. That's closer to the size of NHL 24, and fortunately very reasonable as far as how much space it'll occupy on your hard drive. One big part of that has to be that, while College Football 25 is packed with 134 schools and tons of players, the development team realized physical scanning players just was never going to be feasible.
NBA 2K uses a massive 3D scanning truck to take elaborately detailed images of almost every single professional basketball player, and the uniforms of basketball mean details like extensive tattoo work are plenty visible. College Football 25 benefits from only player faces and overall build really being seen, and they used an extensive character creation and morph system that instead uses a single image of a player and builds a similar model when devs can then fine-tune for accuracy.
It's definitely possible that College Football 25 could add more gigs down the line and go up in size with post-launch roster updates and additions to various stadiums that may need a bit more work, but it's unlikely to get much bigger. If you were worried about needing 100+ gigs free, worry not as College Football 25 should fit nicely even on smaller hard drives.
