Blizzard Fixes Annoying Leveling Issue in Vessel of Hatred

More Angel Breath herbs for everyone to upgrade those potions in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred following a quick hotfix.
Blizzard Fixes Annoying Leveling Issue in Vessel of Hatred
Blizzard

As I made my way through Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion, following mostly the campaign and some Season of Hatred (Season 6) side content, I ran into a bit of an issue, one that I wrote off as some kind of noob mistake while getting reacquainted with Sanctuary. When it was time to upgrade my potion (every time from level 4 onwards), I was stuck, needing a rare Angel Breath herb.

This became quite the annoyance, as I could remember during a previous season in the base game that I always had more than enough resources to upgrade my potions when the time came.

Turns out, I wasn't crazy or missed something important, and neither did you. Other players have been running into this issue as well, so much so that Blizzard has acted quickly, fixing this progression hurdle.

In a hotfix update in the early hours of the morning on 10 October 2024, Blizzard announced that Elites and Bosses now have a bigger chance to drop Angel Breath and gave some example values:

  • Dungeon Boss level 30-49: Will drop 10 bundled herbs + 2 Angel Breath
  • Campaign Bosses level 50-60 will drop 30 bundled herbs + 7 Angel Breath
  • All elites in Torment difficult have 10% chance to drop 4 bundled herbs and a 2% chance to drop 4 Angel Breath.

  • Fixed an issue where the Citadel Community Challenge would pop-up continuously.
  • Fixed an issue where progression could be blocked during the Undercity: The Promise quest if the area was left before completing the Survey phase.
  • Various stability improvements.

Well done, Blizzard, well done! It was a huge, annoying issue, but I didn't even think of reporting it, wondering if I might have just done something wrong or missed a step while pushing my way to level 60. The developer's speed is definitely admirable, as this wasn't a game-breaking bug at all but rather a balance adjustment.
