With Destiny 2 fans getting more and more familiar with The Witch Queen expansion and Season of the Risen, certain guns have slowly risen as Guardians' favourites.
Of course, raid exclusive weapons will be in high demand, including the exotic Pulse Rifle, Collective Obligation. For the most part, though, accessibility plays a huge part in what weapons become meta, particularly for PvE content.
One gun that checks all the marks for guns needed this season is the Funnelweb Submachine Gun. With SMGs needed to stun Overload Champions this season and the addition of Void 3.0, Funnelweb is simply a godsend.
"Why?" You might ask. Well, this SMG does Void damage, which can help you pump out an obscene amount of damage paired with Volatile Rounds.
With that said, let's take a look at how you can get your hands on the Funnelweb SMG in Destiny 2.
How to farm the Funnelweb SMG
Despite the Funnelweb being relatively easy to obtain, a lot of players still have yet to get their hands on the SMG.
According to Light.gg, a site utilised by both veterans and new players alike, only 55% of Guardians have claimed to own a Funnelweb SMG. Of course, this isn't the entirety of Destiny 2's player base, but it's a good indication of the weapon's rarity.
While we say the weapon is easy to obtain, it's by no means under your control. Right now, the only way to get the Funnelweb is via random world drops.
This means that it can drop, well, while in Destiny 2's vast open zones. It also means there is no way to target the Funnelweb specifically by running Strikes, PvP, Gambit, etc.
You can get the SMG while inside those activities, just don't expect a higher chance of doing so.
Another choice is by checking what Banse-44 has in store for sale from time to time. The Funnelweb will pop in his inventory, so be sure to keep an eye on that too.
Funnelweb god roll
Everyone has a personal "god roll." For me, running a Funnelweb with Elemental Capacitor on Void (more stability) and Killing Wind makes the SMG feel precise and snappy, particularly since my roll has things like Handling almost maxed out.
With the Veist Stinger trait, I can do just fine without things such as Subsistence, a perennial favourite perk for all SMG enthusiasts.
So, if you're looking for a more classic Funnelweb SMG god roll, these are the traits we recommend:
- 1st Column: Corkscrew Rifling or Arrowhead Brake
- 2nd Column: Accurized Rounds or Tactical Mag
- 3rd Column: Subsistence or Perpetual Motion
- 4th Column: Frenzy or Adrenaline Junkie
Good luck in your hunt, Guardian!
