Update (6/25): Dead by Daylight has confirmed that Lara Croft is coming to the game on 16 July!
Based on recent leaks in an article published and then later deleted by Eurogamer, it's looking increasingly likely Tomb Raider's Lara Croft will be the next Dead by Daylight survivor. The article provided a 16 July release date, and identified that, as usual, the new survivor and other upcoming content would be available in the PTB before the final release.
This would mean that Lara Croft is the Dead by Daylight licensed survivor mentioned in the Year 9 Roadmap, scheduled for release in July. If the leaks turn out to be true, Lara Croft is set to join the Fog as a solo survivor - with no killer or map to accompany her.
The Eurogamer article mentioned that the Lara Croft in the game is specifically from the Survivor trilogy, boasting the same outfit from that series. It even included quotes from the Dead by Daylight team, detailing that "[Lara's] unwavering tenacity, wealth of survival expertise, and bravery are represented with three unique Perks to balance the scales in her favour."
In addition to the confirmation that Lara Croft is joining Dead by Daylight, the leak also included an image of what appears to be the character's in-game model:
In the past few weeks, there's been a ton of speculation about the possible identity of the next Dead by Daylight survivor, and most rumours have landed on the possibility of Lara Croft or The Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon. Mentions of an "impending zombie apocalypse" seemed to tease a DBD x The Walking Dead crossover, but recently, a myriad of leaks have pointed to Lara Croft joining the Fog next instead.
It's likely that more information about the next chapter's survivor will be officially announced quite soon; as always, information sourced from leaks is always subject to change.
