With the online tournaments for Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) New York 2020 kicking off in October, there's a whole lot of CS:GO esports action to look forward to. We've already covered the European tournament for IEM New York, and now it is time for the North American tournament. Here's everything you need to know about IEM New York North America, including the prize pool, schedule, format, teams, and how to watch.
Prize pool
The prize pool for IEM New York North America is smaller than its European counterpart, weighing in at ,000.
The prize pool distribution is:
- 1st place - $25,000
- 2nd place - $10,000
- 3rd place - $5,000
- 4th place - $5,000
- 5th place - $3,000
- 6th place - $3,000
- 7th place - $2,000
- 8th place - $2,000
- 9th place - $1,500
- 10th place - $1,500
- 11th place - $1,000
- 12th place - $1,000
The winner of IEM New York North America will also receive an invite to the IEM Global Challenge, an upcoming tournament featuring a prize pool of $500,000.
Teams
A total of 12 teams will be competing at IEM New York North America. The tournament features some of the top teams in the region, including the previous champions Evil Geniuses.

Format
The IEM New York North America tournament will kick off with a round-robin group stage format, with six teams per group as you can see from the image above.
The top three teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, while the bottom three teams will be eliminated.
The playoffs matches will all be best-of-three, with the exception of the grand finals, which will be best-of-five.
Schedule
IEM New York North America runs from 6th to 18th October. The group stage will run from 6th to 13th October.
Following the group stage, there will be a one-day break, with the playoffs starting on 14th October and running until 18th October.
Each day, the matches for IEM New York North America will begin at 20:00 BST.
