Developers Inverge Games and Chibig have officially launched their creature-saving action-adventure Creatures of Ava for Xbox Series X|S and PC. As players jump into the game to explore what the planet Ava has to offer, the protagonist, Victoria, must complete her expedition to save the planet's creatures from corruption.
This begins with the first in-game quest, which helps players navigate the open world, get acquainted with important game mechanics, and learn more about the history and its inhabitants that call this planet home. This guide details the quest objectives and explains how to complete the "Welcome to Ava" quest in Creatures of Ava.
Creatures Of Ava Welcome To Ava Quest Objectives List
After selecting their game difficulty, a cut sequence shows how Victoria arrived on Ava, the first quest, "Welcome to Ava," will immediately begin. This quest is a tutorial guiding players on movement, utilizing various in-game mechanics like Photo Mode and introducing various characters while setting the game's plot.
Players must guide Victoria to the central hub of Ava to establish communications with her colleague, Tabitha, but add a few tricks up her sleeves. Let's look at the objectives required to complete the "Welcome to Ava" quest with a walkthrough provided below:
- Heal yourself
- Head to higher ground
- Find a way out of the temple
- Investigate the nearby chamber
How To Complete The Welcome To Ava Quest In Creatures Of Ava?
After waking at the crash site, players must find some healing items to heal Victoria, where three Healing Brews are found nearby. Once healed, she'll need to gain the higher ground to gain a signal on her radio and establish communications with Tabitha.
They'll need to find a way up and out of the chasm by climbing the cliff face straight ahead until they reach a dead end. Turn to the left by the tree and follow the route until they find an open space before a waterfall which they must crouch under the rocks and continue following the path once they've entered the next area.
Sprint across the platforms on the left side and wrap around the corner to find a platform to climb up, where they'll find their first creature. They can use the sprinting action to follow this creature to the next location by heading to their right and crouching through an open space in the cliff before wrapping to their right and crossing the platform nearby.
Stick to the right side of the cliff and keep moving forward by jumping across more platforms until they climb the rock face here to follow the creature through another hole found in the ruins. Here, they'll discover a pack of Kraj, unlocking Photo Mode, and they can take a picture of one for Avapedia, which we'll discuss in a separate guide.
After taking a photo of the Kraj, they must continue securing higher ground by crossing the river and following the path towards the ruins, passing a set of arches. Carefully making their way on this path and around the cliff, they jump across to reach the next platforms, where three more Healing Brews can be found, before continuing the path heading up.
Climb onto the ruined bridge and jump across where a camera prompt will appear on screen and they can take a picture of the next creature sitting atop an alcove on their right before continuing. Once they've climbed the platform, they'll see the pack of Kraj straight ahead, and they can follow them to get to the temple grounds.
A cutscene will play in which a mysterious creature attacks Victoria before she wakes up and is greeted by an unknown character inside the Antaris Cliff Temple. A series of dialogue prompts will start, during which Victoria explains to this unknown character the context of her expedition before being tasked with finding a way out of the temple.
Look for the Witherblossom towards the back of the temple, where they can see white markings on the left side, before jumping towards it and pulling themselves onto the balcony. Make a quick right turn and jump over the stone blocking the way before activating a lift and taking them down into the temple.
Follow the path straight ahead before making a right turn up the staircase; they'll find an object resting on a stand in the center; another cutscene plays, and Victoria takes possession of it before the withering roots start to spawn before a lift is activated, bringing her back to the temple ground floor.
A dialogue segment with the unknown character will occur, which reveals that she has the Nafitar staff, an ancient relic, describing that it can be used to remove Witherblossoms. As the Nafitar staff was used to cleanse the withering, she must learn how to use the staff's power to remove the blisters blocking their exits out of the temple.
Using the LT button or the left mouse button to cast energy aimed at the Witherblossom, and press down the right Analog stick or the mouse scroll wheel to toggle the automatic camera. They can start using the Nafitar staff to clear the first Witherblossom to enter the chamber and clear the area from Witherblossoms using the staff once again.
Heading up the stairs to clear the next Witherblossom, blocking the entry to the following chamber, they discover more Witherblossoms whose roots cover an obelisk at the center. Once cleared, a cutscene will play in which Victoria interacts with the Sagestone to place the Nafitar staff in the slot, triggering an Antaris mosaic to solve.
We'll detail how to solve the Antaris mosaic in another guide, but once completed, the Nafitar staff will gain a new ability, Ushun, to levitate or move objects and withered creatures for a limited time. Use the LT button or the left mouse button to connect to an object or creature and then the RB button or the Q key to cast energy to lift or move objects, with the first being a stone wall in the chamber to move up before passing through.
Proceed to follow the unknown character up the staircase to return to the temple ground floor and take the stairs on the right before looking down between the gap to find another object to levitate. Jump onto the platform to cross between the gaps and move straight ahead to find another loose wall to levitate or move up.
Behind this wall is another Witherblossom to remove with the Nafitar staff, and, once done, head down and look to the left of the Witherblossom for another wall to levitate and a Witherblossom to remove. Once this has been completed, the Witherblossom blocking the door will be removed, leading to the next chamber to enter.
A Kraj can be found trapped within the Witherblossom roots, and to free it, they must remove the corruption from the infected Kraj by using the staff and jumping and dashing away from their attacks. They'll unlock a new talent for the Nafitar staff, the Beam Chain, before using it on the remaining infected Kraj and freeing the creature stuck and they'll bite their way through the remaining roots covering the exit out of the temple.
The last dialogue segment between Victoria and the unknown character is shared, who reveals his name to be Nim'ar before the title card appears on-screen. The dialogue continues as the quest ends, and players can start the next quest as they head into the village to meet the chief.
