It's been a bit of a wild ride for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans who happen to love G2. First, the organization benched benched Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and then added Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa to its roster. Now, another move, as G2 has officially benched their in-game leader (IGL) and Danish Gigachad, Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen.
The announcement didn't come as too much of a surprise since rumors have been circulating in the CS2 community; G2 also played IEM Dallas with Stewie2K as a substitute for HooXi and ended up winning the event.
G2 Esports took to social media to thank the "real CS Gigachad" for all his efforts and even posted a video that all HooXi fans should watch.
HooXi is now inactive as G2 Esports helps him find a new team.
Taking to X, HooXi shared a heartwarming message with fans, stating:
It's been one hell of a ride the past 2 years and at the end we ticked off a few big boxes on the bucket list. I will forever be grateful for the chance I got to prove myself, it has given and gotten me through the best and worst times of my life so far, both IRL and ingame
The biggest virtual hug and thank you to the #G2ARMY despite how toxic this community can be, you guys kept my spirits up a lot of times! And to everyone else that have crossed my path in the past two years in G2, thank you for everything. Especially huNter, NiKo and m0NESY who has been there through thick and thin.
Gigachad out.
Current G2 CS2 Roster
- Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
- Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač

Who will become G2 Esports' new IGL, and who will be the fifth player to join? We'll likely find out soon, as important events such as the BLAST Premier Fall Groups aren't far away, and G2 Esports is one of the confirmed teams competing.
