Because of Call of Duty HQ, the hub application in which all active Call of Duty titles run through, it seems game sharing has become a lot more complicated, or impossible. So far, players have been unable to game share Modern Warfare 3.

This was true for the Campaign Early Access period, which offered access to the account that bought the title, but not to other accounts on the same system. 

However, outlets have reported that game sharing should become available once the full title drops on November 10.

How To Game Share On Xbox

If you're looking to game share Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox, the method will differ depending on whether it's with an account on the same system or not. If you're hoping to share with a friend on a separate system, you should be able to do so by following these steps:

• Start up your console and sign into your Xbox Live account.
• Press the Xbox button, open up the left side of the menue and look for the "Add New" option. Press "A."
• You'll then want to add your friend's account, for which you'll need to enter their login details.
• Follow the instructions on the screen, press the Xbox button again and select "Sign In" to sign into your friend's account.
• Press the Xbox button again and head to "Settings" then "Personalization," then "My Home Xbox."
• Select "Make this my home Xbox"
• Repeat the same steps for your friend’s Xbox with your own login details. 

How To Game Share On PS5

To game share Modern Warfare 3 with a friend's account on a different PS5, follow these steps:

• Log in to your PlayStation Network account on your PS5.
• Open up the Settings menu and find "Users and Accounts."
• Look for the "Other" option.
• Select "Console Sharing and Offline Play" and ensure the option is enabled.
• Log out of your PSN account and log into your friend's account that you want to game share with on your PS5.
• Head back to the same "Console Sharing and Offline Play" menu and select "Don't Disable"
• Log back into your own PSN account.

You'll need to do the same steps on your friend's PS5 for you both to reap the benefits, but be aware that you can only game share with one person at a time. When your friend logs back in with their own PSN on their console, they'll have access to all of your compatible games.
