Following several months in Early Access via Steam on PC, developer Sharkmob is finally unleashing Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt on PC and PlayStation 5. As a free-to-play battle royale title set in Prague, with supernatural abilities and a host of weapons, we expect good things. We have already reported on the news that Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt will feature crossplay support, despite some caveats.
Now, it's time to answer the question: Does Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt feature cross-progression support between PC and PS5?
Vampire Bloodhunt cross-platform progression
If you own both a gaming PC and a PS5 and want to play Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt on both, keep your progress between the two platforms, then we've got some bad news for you.
- Vampire Masquerade Bloodhunt PS5 graphics modes, 3D audio and more
- Vampire Masquerade Bloodhunt PC specs and file size
- Sony and KIRKBI invest $2 billion to build Epic Games' Metaverse
- Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate - Release date, gameplay, and trailer
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt does not feature cross-platform progression at launch. This is despite the fact that players can use their one Sharkmob account on both platforms.
The developers explain: "While your Sharkmob account can be used on both platforms, the progress and achievements/trophies on each platform are individual. The same is true for the level of your archetypes, customization, and quest progress. This also means that unlocked items, quest rewards, purchased cosmetics or tokens are also individual per platform and cannot be transferred."
This essentially means that you will have to start from scratch when, for example, playing Bloodhunt on PC then switching to PS5, and visa versa.
One additional note is that while the developers made it clear Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt does not have cross-progression between PC and PS5, they did say: "Bloodhunt does not have cross-progression at this time."
The "at this time" part makes us wonder if the game could receive cross-progression support in a future update. If this feature does get released, we will endeavour to update our readers on the matter.
