Ubisoft Finally Adds Steam Achievements For Assassin's Creed Valhalla

In the wake of slow sales for Star Wars Outlaws following its release in August 2024, French publisher Ubisoft has taken action to restrategize plans by bringing and releasing some of their biggest titles on Steam on Day One. This includes Outlaws and the Wild Card DLC in November 2024, and the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was delayed from November 2024 to February 2025, yet many have continued to reiterate the lack of attention existing titles available on Steam have received.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is one such title that Ubisoft released in December 2022; many have cited that the game was released with little to no support for Steam Achievements. That has now changed as the publisher updated the AC community on a new Quality-of-Life change added to the action-adventure game.

Nearly two years after its Steam release, Assassin's Creed Valhalla finally received much-needed support for one core gameplay feature. Steam Achievements have arrived for Valhalla, which comes after players have complained about the feature's omission following its Steam release despite a lackluster response from the publisher about not adding them.

Based on the data history via SteamDB, the publisher added the Steam Achievements category on 7th October 2024, for which the update went live the following day on 8th October 2024. This was later confirmed in a Steam News article, which read that "Steam Achievements are now available for Assassin's Creed Valhalla," for players, which they'll "retroactively" earn if they have "already completed" them in their journey.

As players can now "retroactively" earn or unlock their Steam Achievements for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it does wonder if this feature will be available on Day One for Assassin's Creed Mirage. Luckily for players, according to its Steam listing, Mirage will be the upcoming Assassin's Creed game coming to Steam in October 2024, and it clearly labels that Steam Achievements will be supported upon its release!
