In ARK Survival Ascended, you will need to farm multiple resources in order to craft items and survive. One of them is the metal that you can use to craft advanced tools, weapons, armors, structures, and more.

However, finding metal is not easy, as it is only found in certain locations and requires special tools to mine and refine. Thus, we have listed some of the best locations to find metal nodes on the map and how to use metal for crafting various items.

Where to Find Metal Nodes on the Map?

Metal nodes are grey rocks with silver or gold streaks on them, indicating that they contain metal ore. These rocks are more common in high-altitude areas, such as mountains and volcanoes. You can use a stone pick to mine metal from these rocks, but you will get more metal if you use a metal pick. To craft a metal pick, you need to refine metal into metal ingots using a Refining Forge.

The map of ARK Survival Ascended is based on The Island map from the original game, with some modifications and additions. The Island map has many locations where you can find metal nodes, but some of the best ones are:

• The Volcano: The Volcano is located in the center of the map and has a large crater filled with lava and metal nodes. You can find hundreds of metal nodes here, but be careful of the high temperature and the dangerous creatures that inhabit the area.
• The Frozen Tooth: It is a mountain in the northwest corner of the map that has a snowy peak and a cave system. You can find many metal nodes on the surface and inside the caves but be prepared for the cold weather and the aggressive animals that live here.
• The Grand Hills: The Grand Hills are a series of hills in the northeast part of the map that have a lot of vegetation and wildlife. You can find many metal nodes scattered around the hills, especially near the cliffs and waterfalls.
• The Red Peak: The Red Peak is a mountain in the southeast part of the map that has a reddish hue and a lot of trees. You can find many metal nodes on the slopes and ridges of the mountain, but watch out for the predators that roam the area.
• The Blue Obelisk: The Blue Obelisk is one of the three mysterious structures scattered around the map. It is located in the southwest part of the map and has a blue glow and a platform. You can find many metal nodes around the base and on top of the platform, but be aware of the other players that may try to claim this spot.

How to Use Metal for Crafting in Ark Survival Ascended?

Once you see metal nodes, use a stone pick to mine them, and after that, you will have to refine them. In order to do this, you need to have a Refining Forge at Engram Tier 20. Once you have it, place the metal nodes and fuel like Sparkpowder or wood in it to get Metal Ingot that you can use for crafting.
