Breeding creatures in ARK: Survival Ascended can be one of the more challenging aspects to manage, especially when it comes to gestation, which requires extra attention and focus. Thankfully, Aberration introduces a new device to simplify the process: the Embryo Incubator.

This device makes breeding much more manageable, and if you're looking to learn how it works and how to craft one, you're in the right place. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to create the Embryo Incubator in ARK: Survival Ascended Aberration, and explain how it can save you a lot of future breeding hassles.

How To Craft The Embryo Incubator In ARK Survival Ascended Aberration

Note: The Embryo Incubator is only available for players who have purchased the Bob’s Tall Tales DLC addon.

The Embryo Incubator is a new structure introduced in the Bobs Tall Tales: Steampunk Ascent DLC for Aberration. Once you have this DLC purchased, you can unlock the Embryo Incubator Engram at level 89, along with the Engram for the Refrigerator. After unlocking these, gather the following resources and use a Fabricator to craft it:

  • 220 Cementing Paste
  • 50 Electronics
  • 120 Polymer
  • 350 Crystal
  • 850 Metal Ingots
  • 150 Wood

Once the Embryo Incubator is built, place it near your tames for convenience, and make sure it's powered by Electricity. From there, you can begin exploring all of its features and uses.

Embryo Incubator Functions And Uses In Aberration

The Embryo Incubator functions similarly to the Egg Incubator, allowing you to extract embryos from pregnant creatures and place them inside for incubation. This process requires the Gene Scanner, so be sure to check out our Gene Scanner guide to understand how it works and how to obtain it.

Embryo Incubator Usage
The Embryo Incubator allows you to extract and store embryos from pregnant female tames, giving you control over which ones to keep for later use. (Picture: YouTube / Ark Trade Federation)

Once extracted, you can store the embryos in the Embryo Incubator, where they will continue to gestate as they normally would. This provides a significant advantage by automating embryo incubation. You won’t need to monitor the mother as closely to ensure the embryo’s health, and you won’t have to worry about returning to a newborn tame that might die while you’re away.

Embryos can remain inside the Embryo Incubator for up to seven days, allowing you to store embryos with favorable stats for later use. This also means you don’t have to manage to raise multiple baby dinos at once. Additionally, the Embryo Incubator allows you to maintain your reproduction rates without waiting for the mother to give birth, speeding up the breeding process.

 The Embryo Incubator Benefits
Beyond storage, the Embryo Incubator also frees up pregnant females to mate again and eliminates the concern of embryos being born while you're away. (Picture: YouTube / Ark Trade Federation)

Another helpful feature is that by using the Gene Scanner, you can view the stats of the embryo while it's still inside the mother. Once extracted, you can choose to destroy the embryo if the stats aren’t to your liking. This eliminates the waiting period for an unwanted dino, putting you in control of embryo incubation.

That concludes our comprehensive guide on crafting the Embryo Incubator in ARK: Survival Ascended Aberration, along with detailed insights into how it can give you a significant advantage when breeding your tames.
