Choosing a strong weapon in Apex Legends is just as important as choosing a Legend with a power that works with your playstyle and fits with the game's meta. However, the weapons change every season, with tweaks to their strength and new weapons added to the roster. As a result, it can be challenging to keep up with which Apex Legends weapons are the best.
We're here to help you know which weapons you'll definitely want to grab, and which ones you'll want to leave alone. Here's our Apex Legends Season 18 Weapons tier list, ranked from the best to the worst.

S-tier weapons are weapons that can easily take down opponents, while D-tier weapons don't have the firepower or strength to win most shootouts. The higher the tier, the better the weapon. Simple.
S -Tier Weapons
These top-tier weapons can help you win any shootout with their perfect combination of rate of fire, reload time, and damage.
- Nemesis
- Devotion
- Peacekeeper
- R-31 Carbine
- VK-47 Flatline
- R-99 SMG
The Nemesis begins firing when you're soon to lose a fight, giving you a burst of damage to the enemy that may just be enough to kill them but keep you alive. The Flatline makes the top of our list because it's useful in such a wide variety of scenarios; it's helpful at nearly any range, though it can sometimes be tough to aim. Like The Nemesis, The Devotion can also give that extra boost you'll need at the end of a fight, but you'll need to pick up an attachment to make that happen.
A-Tier Weapons
A-tier weapons are some of the best guns available in Apex Legends; while not quite spectacular enough to make the A-tier, these guns are undoubtedly powerful.
- C.A.R. SMG
- Eva-8 Auto
- Mastiff
- Rampage
The C.A.R. SMG is the best SMG in the game, dealing both a great deal of damage and firing quickly. It also reloads pretty quickly, patching up a weakness for some other SMGs. The Rampage is also best-in-class when it comes to medium-range weapons, beating out other options in the game, with the Mastiff being the best for close range.
B -Tier Weapons
B-tier weapons fall into the middle of the pack, meaning they might only be useful in specific situations, or may fall short in some fairly major areas. Overall, though, these weapons can help you hold your own in most fights, and wielding one could really come in handy under the right circumstances.
- Sentinel Sniper
- Longbow DMR
- Havoc
- Hemlok
- Wingman Sniper Pistol
Long-range weapons like the Sentinel Sniper and Longbow DMR are quite powerful when it comes to dealing damage, but long-range fights just aren't a part of Apex's meta, so they may not come into play often. The same applies to the Wingman Sniper Pistol.
As for the Havoc, it's a strong weapon, but it takes a long time to charge. If you don't have that charge ready to go when you enter a fight, you might just go down in the time you're readying your weapon. The Hemlok, while a decent weapon that deals bursts of bullets and damage, isn't weak, but it isn't particularly strong either when compared to other burst weapons.
C -Tier Weapons
C-tier weapons are some of the weaker weapons in the game, but they aren't the worst. While they may struggle in most areas or deal only small amounts of damage, they may have redeeming qualities in other areas.
- Alternator SMG
- RE-45
- Charge Rifle
The Charge Rifle deals a lot of damage, but it takes too long to charge to pack a punch (much like the Havoc from the B-tier). The Alternator SMG is quick and can deal some great damage, but it's pretty poor compared to the other SMGs available in the game, so it's not one that most players should consider picking up.
D -Tier Weapons
These D-tier weapons will likely hold you back in a fight, and players with a stronger weapon or good aim may be able to easily take you down while using them. They just aren't capable of dealing as much damage as the other weapons on our list.
- Triple Take
- P2020
- Momzabique Shotgun
The P2020 isn't capable of doing much damage, being a pistol, and the Momzabique Shotgun is simply the worst shotgun in the game when it comes to damage and reload rate.
Those are all of the weapons available in Apex Legends Season 18, ranked from the most hard-hitting guns to the worst of the worst. Choose wisely.
