Tools are essential equipment players can obtain through exploration or interacting with Knowledge Stones and murals on the floating islands. Each tool has its unique purpose, from making harvesting materials more efficient to fighting off enemies or when building, as the Stone Hammer is one such tool.
This heavy-duty tool specifically caters to players who enjoy building their in-game treehouses in the skies, but getting it is not quite straightforward. We've addressed this concern by explaining how to get the Stone Hammer and outlining its best uses in Aloft.
How To Find And Use The Stone Hammer In Aloft?
The Stone Hammer is one of the many primary tools players can utilize and can be unlocked relatively early in Aloft. While it doesn't explicitly state how or where it can be found, having this tool is hugely beneficial when it comes to building in-game.
As far as our in-game explorations have been, we have yet to find the Stone Hammer through exploration, but through a happy accident, we discovered how to craft one. This does require players to have specific resources foraged or mined on an island; the starting island is a great location to farm these resources as they will need to have Stones and Wood, which can also be found inside Abandoned Chests and Seaweed Baskets.
With enough Stones and Wood, they must access the Workbench Station if they have acquired the blueprint from the Knowledge Stone and have crafted it. Once they're in the Workbench Station's menu, select the first icon where they'll have all their collected resources as they must combine one piece of Wood and one Stone to gain the Stone Hammer blueprint by hitting the "Learn" button.
Then, navigate to the second icon on the left side of the UI, where they can craft the Stone Hammer, which is added to the Inventory. Exit the Workbench Station and enter the Inventory using the TAB key and under the Gear tab, they can find the hammer before equipping it to their hotbar.
When exiting the building mode, the Stone Hammer is primarily used to build and repair housing structures which the abandoned house on the starting island can be repaired using the available components they've unlocked after crafting the Stone Hammer. When building, after placing down components, exit Build Mode, switch to the hammer, and aim at the component to build it.
