Most matches in WWE 2K24 work their way towards a pinfall or submission victory, but winning a Royal Rumble is a whole other beast. You can find the full WWE 2K24 controls guide here for details on how to Grab and Irish Whip opponents, as that'll be the bread and butter of trying to eliminate your opponents.

If your opponent is staggered against the ropes, either because of a strike or you dragging them into the ropes, you'll have the option of hitting RT + A or R2 + X to hit your Royal Rumble Finisher. This varies from superstar to superstar and can be checked at any time in Move-Set from the Creation Suite, but in all cases it's the opportunity for an almost guaranteed elimination.

If you don't want a Royal Rumble Finisher to be reversed, you'll have to wait and hit one when your opponent is in a Stunned state. Speaking of reversals, whether you're using Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation, your reversal timing is going to be one of the biggest factors in winning these matches.

Staying in there longer means more opportunities to be thrown out, so be ready to reverse when that possibility draws near. After you Strong Irish Whip someone over the top rope, you can grapple or running attack to attempt an elimination. Grabs will begin a mini-game, but running attacks either eliminate them or get reversed.

How to Win a Royal Rumble in WWE 2K24

If you're trying to win a Royal Rumble, particularly if you're an early entrant (or dealing with that final Showcase match), it's going to be a grind. You generally want a superstar with high endurance to take punishment, but having an easily acessible Signature is also critical. If their Signature is too difficult to hit, especially once the ring fills up with multiple opponents, you'll have a much harder time racking up finishers to use on others later.

When you have a finisher banked, the safest option is to initiate a Grab and then press LB or L1 to start dragging them towards the ropes. This will place your opponent on the ropes and give you the option to eliminate them with a finisher. It's also one of the lowest risk options when it comes to reversals.

If you Strong Irish Whip your opponent over the ropes, you run the risk of their reversal sending you sailing if you're too damaged. You can also choose to Irish Whip them into the corner and initiate the elimination mini-game from there. At least in that case you won't risk an automatic elimination should they reverse the Irish Whip.

While it still took a few tries, our best luck after starting a 30-Man Royal Rumble was using Drew McIntyre and going for very quick running attack eliminations. If you deal enough damage to get your opponent's health almost to the red (the bar itself, not their body damage), that will often be enough for a running attack elimination while they're on the apron.

Keep an eye on the damage to other opponents around the ring if it fills up and focus on anyone with significant health or body damage to get them thrown out and clear space. These matches can be chaotic, but with perserverence and the right strategy you can absolutely take the win in a WWE 2K24 Royal Rumble.
