No, WWE 2K24 gameplay footage didn't actually leak this week. That isn't going to stop anyone from saying that it has, and the reactions have only fueled interest about the next installment in this franchise and what else we could see from WWE games down the line.

We'll help explain exactly where that supposed "WWE 2K24 Gameplay Leak" came from and what it could mean for future WWE titles. Months after their most climactic moment, The Bloodline continues to influence the industry.

A new video has been making the rounds, with versions on YouTube and several social media outlets claiming it's a new WWE 2K24 gameplay leak. While the reactions to the footage have mostly been positive, the truth is the video was actually created and published by Peacock the day before Christmas.

As seen in their original video here, the classic Royal Rumble moment where Sami Zayn turned on Roman Reigns and The Bloodline plays out. While much of it looks like last year's WWE 2K23, the interface, camera angles, and other aspects are completely unique. Once the conversation got rolling with The SmackDown Hotel sharing the clip, several fans expressed hopes that this would be seen in the games themselves.

Soon after, the clip began to get reposted more aggressively including versions on YouTube which falsely claim the video is leaked WWE 2K24 footage. In reality, this is most likely modded WWE 2K23 footage made by Peacock to get fans to sign up and watch the actual Royal Rumble moment they've recreated, as they did several other animated posts hyping specific WWE moments leading into Christmas.

The reaction to this supposed WWE 2K24 leak has also garnered new interest in a potential WWE RPG game, which was last mentioned by Stephanie McMahon in a May 2022 earnings call, but nothing concrete has been learned about it since then. We've got more details here on when official WWE 2K24 news is actually expected.
