Despite not appealing to the masses, the MX9 provides a classic Modern Warfare/Warzone experience, especially in Warzone 2 Season 5. The MX9 offers an original Warzone feel, having players confidently explore the depths of Al Mazrah or Ashika Island with the comfort of a heavy-hitting submachine gun. Although it seems slow, the MX9 is quite the contrary and packs a fair punch, throwing players back into their seats when firing this powerful submachine gun.
Ideal as a sniper support option, the MX9 offers an incredible damage profile at both close and mid ranges, allowing players to treat the MX9 to a lightweight assault rifle. Although not being heavily used, the MX9 currently has mass space for usage, allowing players to truly optimize the meta before other people jump on the trend. Careful customization is required to optimize the weapon due to its slow response time, but thankfully we can use that to our benefit.
Update 17 August: The following loadout utilizes successful builds from previous seasons. We'll update this page throughout Warzone 2 Season 5 to reflect the state of the game.
Best MX9 Warzone 2 Loadout
Below, are the following attachments to use on your MX9 within Warzone 2:
- Optic: SZ SIGMA-IV Optic
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Barrel: 508MM Rear Guard
- Magazine: 32-Round Magazine
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
The typical MX9 feels slow, however in Modern Warfare terms, slow means powerful. Therefore we're going to use that to our advantage and manipulate this submachine gun into an assault rifle feel, offering damaging consequences and fast low recoil.
The optic only allows close-quarter encounters, meaning players are going to have lay-low when it comes to longer ranges. When the going gets tough at close range, the MX9 provides salvation due to its ability to down enemies quickly and relocate its user easily. Plus, you never want a magnified scope on a submachine gun.
The laser and rear grip allow the weapon to be used with better handling and precision when hip-firing, having players feel more confident when fighting in houses or building complexes as seen within both Warzone maps.
The barrel and magazine allow the weapon to transform more into an assault rifle, packing the already powerful default MX9 with more punch. The 508MM barrel allows the weapon to be more accurate, potentially allowing you to provide suppressing fire on further away enemies whilst you and your team relocate.
