Nintendo announced a new release date for its upcoming role-playing video game, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, releasing this July. Nintendo has revealed pre-order and Special Edition details for the much-anticipated sequel, which received a stunning new trailer.
As pre-ordering is now available, the Japanese publisher provided details on a limited-time offering for its previous games, available exclusively from the Nintendo website and eShop. We have detailed everything about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, including the newly revised release date, gameplay features, trailer and more.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Release date and trailer
Nintendo announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is scheduled for release on 29th July 2022 for the Nintendo Switch consoles. The release date covers the digital and physical releases for which the former is available via the Nintendo eShop.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is currently available for pre-orders across major retailing outlets and on the official Nintendo website and eShop. Additionally, there is a Special Edition release which includes the standard version of the game, a steel case and a beautiful 250-page book featuring the artwork completed by Masatsugu Saito.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Gameplay features
Based on the footage provided in the trailer, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 appears to follow a similar structure, much like the previous two games. Likewise, it features a vast open-world environment with a great mixture of natural beauty and cityscape views for players to investigate.
The trailer also features a playable roster of six characters that will come to your aid during combat. Each character will provide unique abilities, personalities, and backstories to delve into as they progress their journey for Swordmarch.
We also see plenty of vehicles and other modes of transportation, making navigating your way to various locations much easier and less stressful. Many terrifying threats will hinder your journey and provide great challenges as you battle test your party members' strengths and weaknesses.

Its combat mechanics also is quite similar to its previous games; however, we can expect some slight changes to the combat mechanics for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The combat UI now includes a Tactics button, Chain attack system, Fusion and new skill button mappings to improve the overall combat experience.
While Chain attacks allow your party members to team up to perform one special attack against your enemies. A gauge will indicate how much damage is being dealt by this Chain attack which can be multiplied through Completion Bonuses.
As of writing, Nintendo has yet to confirm plans for a DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 3; however, much Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it should be assumed that they may be plans for it. Similarly, we hope they may be additional plans to include an Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and as such, we'll be updating this story once more information has been announced.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Limited time offers
With a newly revised release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo announced a limited time offer for previous Xenoblade Chronicles games. RPG players can pick up Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 available for the Nintendo Switch from the Nintendo website or the Nintendo eShop.
Until 2nd July 2022 at 11:59 pm PT, any Xenoblade Chronicles digital purchase from the Nintendo website or the Nintendo eShop will double the My Nintendo Gold Points, which can be redeemed against your next game or DLC purchase. The Xenoblade Chronicles games that qualify for this limited time offer include:
