Sony and Sucker Punch Productions have officially revealed Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, the ultimate edition of the critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive.
Players will once again have a chance to experience Jin’s story, but this time around with a number of improvements and with a brand new addition - Iki Island.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will include all the previously released content for the game, including the co-op Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, plus the Iki Island content.
And for the PS5 players, Director’s Cut comes with a slew of additional features and improvements.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is coming this summer, and it is slated for release on 20th August 2021 worldwide, on both PS5 and PS4 consoles. The game is already available for pre-order.

You can pre-order an upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for $19.99 USD. This upgrade will become available starting on August 20.
Starting on August 20:

If you bought Director’s Cut PS4, you’ll be able to upgrade to Director’s Cut PS5 at any time for $9.99 USD

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut Iki Island
The Iki Island content will add a whole new island that players will be ably to visit and explore, as well as a brand new story arc related exclusively to Iki Island.
"Jin travels to the island to investigate rumours of a Mongol presence. But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past," says the official description of the DLC.
Asides from a new story and new characters, Iki Island will feature new environments, new armour and horse for Jin, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types, and more.
It hasn't yet been revealed how much content will be there in terms of gameplay hours, but we expect at least around 8 to 10 hours of gameplay.
PS5 upgrade - new features and improvements
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut also comes with a next-gen upgrade for the game.
The PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima Director's will feature the following improvements:
- DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers features
- "Drastically" improved load times
- Enhanced 3D audio
- Framerates "targeting" 60 FPS
- 4K resolution options
- Japanese lip sync
In addition to PS5-exclusive updates, upon the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, players on all systems will receive a free update which will include new accessibility options, the option to enable a target lock-on during combat, a new mode for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and more.
