If you can't wait for the full release, then we've got you covered. Here's everything you need to know about the Back 4 Blood Open Beta, from the exact dates and times, to how you can gain early access, and the content which will be on display.
Back 4 Blood Open Beta: Release dates & times
Players won't have to wait long for the first-person co-op zombie-slaying action to commence. There are, however, actually two dates for the Open Beta of Back 4 Blood. The first is Early Access (more on this later) and the other is where anyone can simply jump in.
- Back 4 Blood Early Access Open Beta dates: 5th to 9th August 2021
- Back 4 Blood Open Beta dates: 12th to 16th August 2021
If you not only want to mark your calendar but also set your alarm, then the Open Beta begins and ends at 20:00 BST via the dates above. Check out the times for the Back 4 Blood Open Beta in your region.
If you simply can't wait for 12th August to get into Back 4 Blood, then we've got you covered in the next section.
How to get Early Access to Back 4 Blood's Open Beta
If you pre-order the digital version of Back 4 Blood on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, you will gain access to the Early Access Open Beta.
No matter which version you purchase, you will also receive the Fort Hope elite weapon skins bundle. This bundle includes skins for the M4 Carbine, UZI SMG, S70 Shotgun and RPK LMG.
If you don't want to fork out any cash and still want Early Access to Back 4 Blood's Open Beta, well, then you can head on over to this link and register for a chance at Early Access.
Further, you can link Twitch to your Warner Bros. Games account and watch selected streamers play the game for one hour to gain Early Access.
Full instructions can be found by heading to the Twitch drops link. Lastly, it is important to note that Back 4 Blood is coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day 1.
This means if you are a subscriber, you should probably try to gain Early Access to the Open Back via Twitch drops instead of purchasing a game you will be able to play on launch anyway.
Back 4 Blood Open Beta content
As you have probably guessed, you won't have the full Back 4 Blood experience in the Open Beta. Instead, there will be limited content for players to test out.

- Two maps for the “Swarm” PvP mode
- Two co-op maps to fight off Ridden with your friends
- Play as Mom for the first time, as well as other Cleaners: Evangelo, Holly, Walker and Hoffman
- Play as six different Ridden variants in “Swarm,” including the Bruiser, Retch, Hocker, Exploder, Crusher and Stinger
- Various weapons to check out, cards to build decks and Ridden to slay
- Explore the Fort Hope communal hub
