Seeped in Norse mythology and Viking culture, Tribes of Midgard is a co-op action survival RPG for up to 10 players, developed by Norsfell and published by Gearbox. As the game was released on 27th July, many players are experiencing being an Einherjar (fallen warriors taken to Valhalla) for the first time, and basking in the glory of battle as they return to Midgard to stop Ragnarök, the end of the world. However, players will notice they are limited to two classes, the Ranger and the Warrior, at the start of the game. You might be wondering how you can go about unlocking all six other "hidden" Tribes of Midgard classes?
How to unlock all Tribes of Midgard classes
If you are tired of playing as a Ranger or a Warrior class in Tribes of Midgard, then you will need to grind a bit and meet certain requirements to unlock all other classes in the game.
The game has two modes, survival and Saga. You need to complete the requirements to unlock Tribes of Midgard classes in Saga mode, which is a story-driven experience focusing on Saga quests, with the goal of defending your village's Seed of Yggdrasil from those pesky giants.
Check out the requirements for unlocking each of the classes in Tribes of Midgard (excluding Warrior and Ranger which is already unlocked) below.
How to unlock Berserker:
You will need to defeat 20 enemies in a row within 10 seconds. We suggest pulling and grouping up weak enemies, then going to town.
After unlocking the Berserker, you will have access to the class dealing arguably the highest damage in Tribes of Midgard. It can stun enemies, and both stun and slow effects down bother this class at all.
How to unlock Guardian:
You will need to defeat three (3) Jötnar to unlock the Guardian in Tribes of Midgard.
The Guardian, as the name might suggest, is a tank class in Tribes of Midgard. You can block attacks, and support your allies by raising their stats.
How to unlock Seer:
After defeating your first Jotun spawn, you will gain access to the Bifröst in your town. You will need to use the Bifröst to return to Valhalla, and collect your glorious rewards. Repeat this process 10 times to unlock the Seer class in Tribes of Midgard. Please note that the game will end if you use the Bifröst.
The Seer is a healer class, which allows you to revive fallen allies, and even set traps for some great crowd control.
How to unlock Hunter:
You will need to activate all the Shrines in your current game world to unlock the Hunter class.
The hunter is an excellent all-rounder, with the ability to place decoys and traps. Its most useful feature, however, is the ability to place Recall Totem, which allows allies to respawn after dying.
How to unlock Warden:
If you bring a nice group of friends along and practice a bit, the Warden is probably one of the easiest Tribes of Midgard classes to unlock, as you will need to survive for 15 days.
The Warden class isn't great at combat, but it can fast-travel to a village, can trade souls, and is way better at crafting than the other Tribes of Midgard classes that you can unlock.
How to unlock Sentinel:
To unlock the Sentinel class in Tribes of Midgard, players will need to block 25 attacks within 10 seconds. We suggest you pull a horde of smaller, weak enemies and have a shield ready, blocking their attacks to unlock the Sentinel class.
The Sentinel is also a tank class, however, it has the regenerate its own health and can stun enemies to death.
So there you have it, the requirements needed to unlock each of the "hidden" classes in Tribes of Midgard. Good luck, Vikings, some of these will be quite difficult to unlock!
