The first game of the Valorant Game Changers Championship 2022, Cloud9 White vs. KRÜ Esports, is over, and C9 started with a bang by defeating KRÜ in the best of three series by 2-0. KRÜ Esports has now moved to the lower bracket and will fight against the winner of the game, G2 Gozen vs. X10 Sapphire, to maintain their spot in the tournament.
Right from the beginning of the first map, Ascent, C9 dominated massively even though it was picked by KRÜ. C9 began as the attacking side and didn't let KRÜ win even a single round until the tenth, when KRÜ changed their strategy a bit to secure a couple of rounds to finish the first half at 10-2. In the second half, KRÜ started off by securing two rounds to keep themselves alive in the game; however, right after that, Cloud9 won the next three consecutive rounds to win the first map by 13-4.

The second map, Haven, began with KRÜ winning the first two rounds; however, this was the only different part of the story, but the rest was the same as Cloud9 White went to win the next seven rounds one after the other. KRÜ managed to secure a couple more rounds before the first half ended at a score of 8-4. KRÜ couldn't do much in the second half as they only managed to win one round out of five as C9 secured another win by 13-5.
