As registrations for the Smash Summit 11 have come to an end, the next major in Super Smash Bros. Melee competitive organized by Beyond the Summit has broken many records over the last few days, becoming the first tournament in Super Smash Bros. history to break the $ 100,000 USD barrier.
At the moment of writing this, the tournament has reached an outstanding $ 140,115 USD, surpassing by a mile the record setted by Smash Summit 5 in November 2017, with over $ 83 K USD collected.
The #SmashSummit 11 prize pool now sits at over $140,000…

Thank you so much for supporting the event and we’re so, SO excited to be BACK!!! ❤️🥲 pic.twitter.com/Ue8Jy0ufYF
Part of this record-breaking moment came thanks to its patented crowdfunded votation, where players from the Smash community can vote for their favorite players and streamers by spending money on exclusive merch from the event’s website, or by subscribing to the Beyond the Summit’s Smash Twitch channel.
The crowdfunding also came with some rewards, as multiple side events for the Smash Summit 11 will be brought to life in its extensive schedule, including a Summit Ninja Warrior Relay Race, Mario Party (but with REAL money), and last but not least, a very awaited Hot Tube stream with Mango and Zain.
So far, the full list of players who will be part of this event hasn’t been fully revealed, however some of the invitees that have been announced include Smash legends like Joseph "Mango" Marquez, Zachary "SFAT" Cordoni, and Juan Manuel “Hungrybox” DeBiedma.
The Smash Summit 11 will be held on 15-18th July, 2018. We will bring you everything you need to know about it very soon, so stay tuned.
