Pokémon Legends Arceus introduces a number of new mechanics in the popular series and leans more heavily towards RPG compared to some other recent Pokémon games.
Nonetheless, this is still a Pokémon game at its core, and you will find all those familiar features and gameplay loops we all love in Pokémon games.
Evolving your Pokémon is one of these staple mechanics, and most of these evolutions require evolution items. In some previous games these evolution items were often Held Items, which means that in order to evolve a Pokémon, that Pokémon would usually need to "hold" an item.
This type of item has been removed from Pokémon Legends Arceus and now all evolution items are consumable, which means you only need to apply them once, similarly to how Evolution Stones worked in previous games.
One particularly elusive evolution item players are struggling to find is the Black Augurite, which is required in order to evolve Scyther into Kleavor.
Where to find Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
If you want to complete your Pokédex, you will need to collect info on all available Pokémon in the ancient region of Hisui and all their variations.
Some of these Pokémon you will discover naturally as a part of the game's main story or side missions, while others will simply be there independently of the story, waiting for you to discover them.
As we've already mentioned, Scyther now evolves into Kleavor, a Bug/Rock-type of Pokémon. In order for this evolution to occur, you will need the Black Augurite item.
For now, we know two confirmed methods of how you can find some Black Augurite.
The first one is by battling Graveler, who can drop the Black Augurite as a random loot reward. Chances are bigger if you battle Alpha Graveler which can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, the first main area in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, or more specifically near the Worn Bridge POI.
Alpha Graveler is a level 30 Pokémon, so make sure that you are properly prepared for this fight before engaging with the Pokémon.
The second method is somewhat easier but requires a bit more time. You will need to utilize Ursaluna, the mount which replaces the Itemfinder, and among other things, it acts as an item seeker.
Once you defeat the Noble Kleavor, you simply need to ride on Ursaluna, which will search for rare items, and you will eventually stumble upon the Black Augurite. It has been confirmed that you can dig up Black Augurite in the Crimson Mirelands, but this item can quite possibly be found in other regions as well, and we will update the article as soon as we learn about its location in other regions.
And with that, our "How to get Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends Arceus" guide is completed.
