How To Get Paldean Tauros Forms In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

From the king of the metagame in Generation I to a forgotten relic, Tauros has had a rough ride over the years. Thankfully, Tauros is back in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with not just one Paldean form, not just two Paldean forms, but three brand-new Paldean forms! Each of these forms will not only change the appearance of Tauros in-game but will give it a brand-new type as well.

So, if you are ready to grab the bull by the horns and try to add a Paldean Tauros to your team, you've come to the right place. This article will cover everything you need to know about Paldean Tauros, including where to find it and what the new types are for each form.

Tauros
Paldean Tauros has three unique forms.

Paldean Tauros comes in three different forms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The base form - Fighting - is the easiest to find, and you will likely encounter one by accident on any casual playthrough. Just in case you managed to miss it, Fighting-type Paldean Tauros can be found in Artazone (East), freely roaming about the overworld.

Water/Fighting-type Paldean Tauros is exclusive to Pokémon Violet. Those with Pokémon Scarlet will have to trade with a friend if they want to get their hands on this Pokémon. Water-type Paldean Tauros can be found in the following locations:

  • East Province (Area Three)
  • Asado Desert
  • Zapapico

Finally, as you might have guessed, Fire/Fighting-type Paldean Tauros is exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet. It can be found in the following locations:

  • East Province (Area Three)
  • Asado Desert
  • Zapapico

Each of these different forms should be thought of as a different Pokémon. None of them evolve, and it is impossible to change the form you catch.

Tauros
Paldean Tauros can be Fighting-type, Water/Fighting-type, or Fire/Fighting-type.

It's also a little tricky to distinguish the different forms, especially when you encounter a herd of Tauros at once. Check the horns of each Tauros, as Water variant Tauros will have slightly bubbly horns and blue markings on their body. Contrastly, Fire variant Tauros can be distinguished by the splashes of red on the upper-part spiky mane. Good luck out there, bull wranglers!
