Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been confirmed to have branching storylines that will not necessarily involve the traditional gym leader and Elite Four system. However, that doesn't mean for those trainers who love to battle, there won't be a fresh cast of brand-new gym leaders to take on in the Paldea region!
We've already seen a few of these new gym leaders in action via trailers and other promotional content. This article will cover all of the Pokémon Scarlet, and Violet gym leaders revealed so far, what their type specialty is, and what their signature Pokémon will be!
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Gym Leader List
Several gym leaders have already been announced, along with their respective signature Pokémon and their type specialty. Check out the full list of reveals below!
Grusha
Grusha used to be a professional snowboarder, but he is now the gym leader of the Glaseado Gym. Grusha specializes in Ice-type Pokémon and has the new Pokémon Cetitan as his partner. He has a coolheaded personality but is prone to get heated when an intense battle comes his way.
Brassius
Brassius is the gym leader of Artazon, a town rich with flowers and art. He is, as you might expect, a Grass-type specialist, but we still don't know what his signature Pokémon is yet. In his trailer, he is seen using a Terrastalized Sudowoodo to make it a real Grass-type.
Iono
Iono is the gym leader of Levinvia City. She is a streamer and often broadcasts her gym battles to her many viewers. The so-called "Supercharged Streamer" is a master of the Electric type and battles alongside her signature Pokémon, Bellibolt.
Geeta
Geeta is not a gym leader but the chairwoman of the Pokéon League, which operates Paldea's Pokéon Gyms. Among the region's Champions, she is said to be the most skilled trainer of them all. Needless to say, a battle against Geeta is all but certain for any trainer who has defeated the other gyms.
These are all the gym leaders we know about so far. If Pokémon Scarlet and Violet take the same approach as previous games, we can expect to see eight gym leaders total, four Elite Four members, and a final Champion (with an extra super boss if we're lucky).
