Developer Singularity 6 continues to keep its player base in the loop with the latest developments for its cozy MMO, Palia. Recently, the studio published its latest Developer Update on 19th March 2024, which outlines some of the content and features arriving in-game and announces the date for their next patch update coming to Nintendo Switch and PCs via Epic Games Store, Steam, and their dedicated launcher.

Palia's v0.178 patch update will be deployed for the abovementioned platforms on 25th March 2024, which coincides with the game's anticipated release for PC via Steam. However, what excited players is the contents of the Developer Update post, which sees a few highly requested features from the Palian community that will be included in the v0.178 patch update and what's currently in development.

After the v0.177 patch update included over 250 bug fixes across its platforms, the v0.178 update will add brand-new gameplay content and features celebrating the Spring season, as promised in their January 2024 Developer Update. The biggest content addition coming soon to Palia is the fourth temple, the Temple of the Roots, which has been making rounds online and its location was detailed in our guide for the Night Sky Temple.

According to the developer, the Temple of the Roots won't be the final temple players will get to explore, stating that they "won't say more just yet! Suffice to say, the overarching story of Palia is only just beginning." This temple will bring "a new and exciting experience" for players as they will be guided in their explorations using flowers throughout the central area, which was missing from the Temple of the Gales.

New mechanics will be introduced within the Temple of the Roots; however, the developer didn't go into much detail on what these may be, but they will be utilized "in future temples and zones." Speaking of flowers, the Temple of the Roots won't be the only area players will find them, as one of the most requested features from the community is arriving in-game: the Flower and Trees system.

Players have been wanting to enhance their Gardening Skill by allowing them to plant and grow flowers on their Housing Plot, and it will finally be available. The new gardening system not only lets them decorate their homes with beautiful flora but catching bugs will have a chance of dropping seeds, which can be planted and watered for them to bloom once "fully grown."

Fully grown flowers will 100% guarantee players receive just one "seed of that flower type," which should help players produce a robust garden for their homes. Alongside the flowers, the trees are getting reworked for this update as planting tree seeds must also be watered for germination, and if players like how it looks, they can stop watering and possibly chop it down for resources.

As for what's to come in future updates, a few more player-requested features are currently in development, and new Building Blocks will be added at some point. The community has already gotten creative online using Treasure Chests and aquariums to reach inaccessible areas or practice their climbing skills before tackling The Tower obstacle course, and now they can use these blocks to enhance this experience further or get creative by building unique structural decor pieces.

New Housing layouts, blueprints, and Add-Ons are coming soon to Palia, which, given the details in the image provided, allows players to build porches and archways. Staying with the Housing system, another highly requested feature from the community is pathways and walkways.

This has been consistently asked as players have resorted to using rugs and gardening soil, but at long last, there will be stone and wooden pathways and walkways to decorate the exteriors of their Housing Plots. Additional features and improvements were also mentioned to be in development, including more changes to the current Ammo Pouches, which should improve players' experience hunting, and a Map Grid to streamline exploration.

Lastly, the Friendship mechanic will also receive some imporvements in a future update, as a new Friendship level will be introduced. The developer has yet to go into detail on adding Friendship level 5 to Palia, but it won't have too much of an impact on the levels players have reached with Villagers thus far and the Romance requirements to meet with them.
