The update sees plenty of balance changes, bug fixes, and new gameplay content for players to explore, and it also marks the arrival of the Flowers and Tree System.

Budding gardeners can plant flower and tree seeds, water them, and watch them grow before they can be picked to decorate their homes. If they want to learn more about this system, we've compiled the relevant information to get players started, like how to plant and grow flowers and trees in Palia.

Palia Flowers & Trees System: How To Plant & Grow Trees

Developer Singularity 6 is introducing a new in-game mechanic included in the v0.178 patch update that will ignite budding green thumbs to grow and maintain their gardens, especially once flowers are in full bloom. The Flowers and Trees System will allow players to experiment and enjoy creating beautiful outdoor spaces through this mechanic.

According to the March 2024 Developer Update, the Flowers and Trees System allows players to decorate their indoor and outdoor spaces using the variety of flora grown on their Housing Plot. This system not only allows players to grow flowers but also improves the current system in place for trees, which are now required to be watered.

First, regarding the trees that players have been able to plant, this remains unchanged as they can still get Tree Seeds by chopping trees spawning in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay. Currently, they can get Acorns, Juniper, Pinecones, and Samara seeds from trees planted on their Housing Plot.

The difference with trees is that instead of having a fully grown tree when planted, it will start at its first stage, which players are to water the trees for them to grow. With time passing, they'll grow through the four stages, and they can choose to stop their growth and chop down for resources, including wood, Plant Fiber, and tree seeds, depending on the size and type of tree chopped.

For flowers, players will have to acquire Flower Seeds which are dropped from catching bugs in Kilima Village, before the seeds can be planted on their Housing Plot. Players can also obtain Flower Seeds by visiting Auni to access his Bug-Catching Guild Store to buy them, which then can be planted, watered, and waiting for them to grow.

The developer has confirmed in their patch notes that the flower seeds don't require soil to be planted. Nevertheless, flowers have two stages for blooming, and players can choose when to stop growing them; however, they will stand a chance of dropping flower seeds once they've fully grown, but they'll only get one flower seed from fully grown flowers.

What makes Palian flowers so unique for the game is that they have a long-lasting effect once they've bloomed before being picked. Players can then use these flowers to decorate their indoor spaces and arrange them beautifully to add more style to their homes.

They can also move these flowers around their homes, giving players more flexibility to choose where to place these flowers anywhere throughout their homes. They also have the option to grow a beautiful garden on their Housing Plot to decorate their outdoor spaces.
