After the successful launch of Mortal Kombat 11 more than two years ago, during which it received countless DLCs and releases for current and new generation consoles, NetherRealm has announced its ending support for the popular fighting game.
This surprise announcement comes after great speculation about the future of the title, which was expected to receive at least a final batch of new content, after the launch of its Ultimate edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in November 2020.
Even with this announcement, the developers of the acclaimed title will not completely abandon the game, since its servers and its competitive community will be active for a long time in all its available versions.
However, there will no longer be new characters made available or additional content in development, since according to what NetherRealm confirmed, they are already working on their next project, of which no further details were revealed.
NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end.
