Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode is slowly but surely changing step-by-step as the game's developers, 343 Industries, are carefully listening to player feedback and taking actions in order to implement desired improvements.
Various aspects of the game are getting regularly updated including the progression system, battle pass, XP, challenges, playlists, and other topics which were the focus of the community's outrage since the game's launch.
And while it is clear that developers are determined to improve the game, there's still much work to be done, and many things are expected to come with the next season, which will be one of the biggest updates not only for the multiplayer mode but for the whole game.
But, when is Halo Infinite Season 2 starting and what content do we expect to come with it?
When is Halo Infinite Season 2 coming out?
The first season of Halo Infinite, which launched on 15th November, will last somewhat longer than originally planned as the developers want to use this season for tweaking various aspects of the game and making sure that everyone is satisfied with the experience before they start to release new seasons and content on a more regular basis.
"We made the decision to extend Season 1 to give ourselves more time to ensure Season 2 meets our high-quality bar and so we can finish development for Season 2 in a healthy and sustainable way for our team," reads the official announcement.
Once things are ironed out, future seasons are planned to be released every three months.
So, how long will this prolonged Season 1 last and when will Season 2 start?
According to the Season 1 battle pass timer, the battle pass is currently slated to end on 2nd May, and if there will be no significant downtime, Season 2 will most likely kick off on 3rd May 2022.
What to expect from Halo Infinite Season 2?
While we still don't have too many official details in regard to the Season 2 update, some things are already confirmed for Season 2, like the highly-anticipated co-op campaign.
When it comes to the Season 2 battle pass, it has been confirmed that Credits (Halo Infinite's in-game currency) will be earnable in Season 2's battle pass. Currently, the only way to get Halo Infinite Credits is to buy them.
Previous leaks also suggest, as expected, an abundance of new content, including new maps, new and returning game modes, free events, new guns, and more.
According to a leak, these are the new multiplayer maps to be added in Season 2 (for now, we only know the names of these new maps):
- Bath Salts
- Cataract
- Forbidden
- Beltway
- Solitude
