God of War Ragnarok marks the return of Kratos and his young boy Atreus as they embark on another journey across the realm of Midgard. Fans loved the father-son dynamic of Kratos and Atreus in 2018's God Of War (brought to life by Christopher Judge and Sunny Suljic, respectively), and many have been looking forward to meeting them again in the upcoming sequel.
If the trailers had been any indication, Ragnarok looks to deepen the relationship between these characters as they struggle to survive against the formidable Fimbulwinter. Naturally, both these characters have grown since the events of God of War, and many fans have been wondering how much Atreus has aged since then. If you're someone who's wondering the same, you're in the right place. Keep reading to find out the age of Atreus in God of War Ragnarok.
What is Atreus' age in God of War Ragnarok?
Atreus is 14 years old in God of War Ragnarok. The God of War Novelisation confirmed that the young boy was 11 years old during the events of the first game. With God of War Ragnarok taking place three years after, Atreus is roughly 14. As for Kratos, well, the old gruff could be well over 1000 years old.
It isn't just Atreus who has grown up since the events of the first game. Sunny Suljic, who reprises his role as Atreus in God of War Ragnarok, has also aged since then, not to mention his voice. In an IGN interview, Jodie Kupsco, the dialogue designer on God of War Ragnarok, revealed that the studio had to tweak his performance so that it sounded like it took place over a short period of time.
As such, expect Atreus' voice to sound a lot deeper in the sequel. And that's everything you need to know about Atreus' age in God of War Ragnarok.
