How to get Magma Shot sorcery in Elden Ring

Elden Ring has no shortage of powerful weapons, sorceries and incantations to suit different playstyles. You get these weapons by either defeating a tough foe or find it tucked away in the game's massive open world. Magma Shot is one such powerful sorcery in Elden Ring. 

Magma Shot is a high fire-rate low FP consuming fire damage sorcery that is extremely essential when taking down foes that are weak to fire. You can do quick successive fire attacks to build a status effect. There's also a chance to do AOE damage to a group of relatively weaker enemies. As such, here's our guide that explains how to get Magma Shot sorcery in Elden Ring.

Magma Shot sorcery location Elden Ring

To acquire Magma Shot sorcery, you have to travel to Volcano Manor, talk to an NPC called Tanith, and accept the Assassination quest. Talking to Tanith will give you the key to the Drawing Room in Volcano Manor, inside of which you will find the Assassination contract.

Picking up the Assassination contract will begin a series of invasion missions in which you invade AI-controlled tarnished and take them out for loot. The first contract will send you to kill Old Knight Istvan, who you will find north of Warmaster's Shack site of grace in Limgrave. You will notice that the exact location is marked on your map with a red symbol. 

Defeating Old Knight Istvan is easy if you use sorcery or incantation. Istvan is fast, so we recommend using spells that do quick successive damage. We went with the Rock Sling spell which, although a little slow, does 200+ damage in a single hit. Defeating Istvan will get you the Scaled armour set, but this isn't the reward you are looking for.

Head back to Volcano Manor, and talk to Tanith. She will then praise you for a job well done and give you the Magma Shot sorcery. You can head back to the Drawing Room to pick up another letter and continue the Assassination quest.
