Iron Banner Challenges split
-
With Pinnacle rewards not being as big of a draw as they once were Season-over-Season since Season of the Deep began, we felt it was time to split the Pinnacle acquisition and reputation multipliers we added back in Season of the Haunted.
-
Starting in Season 22, Iron Banner will have two different stacking challenges each day: one for players who just want their reputation multiplier which does not require using specific Seasonal subclasses, and one for players who are going after their Pinnacle rewards, which does require using Seasonal subclasses.

Ritual Rank Ups immediately
-
Dating all the way back to Season 3, ritual reputations (previously known as Valor, Glory, and Infamy) waited until you hit orbit to process any rank-ups, because the almost-full screen banner would overwrite the scoreboard if it showed up earlier. When we revamped and streamlined reputations over the past few years, we moved the rank-up banner to the bottom of the screen and made them less conspicuous, but we left the processing of the ranks until you hit orbit. Now we’ve finally taken the step and made the rank-up process immediately at the end of an activity. No more waiting for your rewards... now they’ll show up right away in your loot stream.

Bungie is overhauling Crucible in Season 22 with a brand new Vex-themed map, two new game modes, and many other minor changes. Gambit, on the other hand, is becoming optional, so you won't have to play it to complete your weekly challenges. Click here to read about all the PvP changes coming to Destiny 2 in Season 22.
Bungie is finally increasing the inventory caps for masterwork items like Ascendant Shards and Enhancement Prisms. Starting with Season 22, players will be able to hold triple the amount of Ascendant Shards and Alloys and double the amount of Enhancement Prisms in their inventories.
However, the company is also removing the option to store these masterwork materials at the Postmaster. This makes them more like Glimmers, which means, if a player reaches the max cap for these materials, they won't get any more until they have used the existing ones.
Item | Old Cap | New Cap |
Ascendant Shard | 10 | 30 |
Alloy | 10 | 30 |
Enhancement Prism | 50 |

Destiny 2 Season 22 Release Date Start Time
Destiny 2 Season 22 should kick off on 22 August 2023 at the weekly reset time following the Destiny Showcase. Last year, Season of Plunder went live right after the showcase, and fans could expect something similar this year. It's also possible that Bungie delays the next Season by a day, as it sometimes does, so 23 August also seems like a valid date.
All Destiny 2 Season 22 Leaks
Destiny 2 Season 22 is reportedly called Season of the Machine and will conclude the ongoing Fallen storyline involving Emaris and Mithrax. As evident from Season of the Splicer and Season of the Plunder, the third Destiny 2 Season in the last two years has been a Fallen season, so this Season 22 leak doesn't seem too far-fetched.
In the case of the reprised Raid, it seems Bungie is bringing back Crota's End. Destiny 1 players may remember this from The Dark Below expansion.
Ever since The Witch Queen's expansion, many players have been anticipating the return of Savathûn, who may finally reappear in Destiny 2 Season 22 if recent leaks are to be believed. It isn't necessarily Savathûn but Immaru, Savathûn's Ghost, is rumored to be returning, but it does open up the door for Witch Queen herself.

Destiny 2 Season 22 Raid
Although Bungie hasn't revealed any details about the upcoming Raid in Season 22. We know that it's going to be a reprised Raid. Recent rumors suggest that it's going to be Crota's End from the Destiny 1 expansion 'The Dark Below', but players have to wait for an official confirmation.
Destiny 2 Season 22 Power Cap
There's no word on whether Bungie will increase the power cap in Season 22 or not. The studio didn't make any changes in Season of the Deep though it did reduce the drop rates of Pinnacle legendary rewards in favor of focusable Powerful Exotic engrams.
