Call of Duty: Mobile fans can look forward to a slew of new features at the start of 2022. The latest COD Mobile "Heist" update brings unique game modes, multiplayer maps, gameplay improvements and a shiny new battle pass. Additionally, the new season is graced with two new functional weapons, the PPSh-14 SMG and Kilo 141 assault rifle.
Of course, there are also numerous weapon balance changes, including those made to the QXR, AMR, PP19, DR-H and D13 Sector weapons. This season, there are only two changes to the submachine gun class; however, coupled with the introduction of the PPSh-41, we can expect a significant shift in the meta.
Rest assured, we have COD Mobile players covered in helping them decide which guns they should use at the start of Season 1 in 2022. So without further ado, here is our tier list of the best SMGs in COD Mobile, ranked from best to worst.
COD Mobile Season 1 2022 SMG tier list
In case you didn't know, SMGs are lightweight automatic weapons with relatively low-energy pistol cartridges. They are typically used at short to medium ranges and have a high rate of fire.
Note: Our tier lists are not an exact science; however, we do strive to make our SMG list as accurate as humanly possible.
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: These are meta weapons and are considered powerhouse SMGs in COD Mobile, which can quickly melt the faces off opponents.
- A-Tier: These Submachine Guns could go toe-to-toe against the S-Tier weapons with a great loadout.
- B-Tier: These SMGs are viable when matched with the perfect loadout that fits your playstyle.
- C-Tier: Guns in this SMG tier also requires you to use a perfect loadout but should be used circumstantially.
- D-Tier: The trash tier. You would be much better off using one of the other SMGs in this list.
SMG tier list
There are 17 SMGs in COD Mobile Season 1 2022, including the newly launched PPSh-41 and CBR4, introduced last season.
The latest seasonal update only introduced balance changes to the QXR and PP19 Bizon, which were already strong meta weapons last season. Given this, our tier list remains the largely same but is subject to change with future midseason updates.
S-tier SMGs:
The PP19 Bizon received improvements to its headshot damage ratio and chest damage multiplier, which is expected to bolster the weapon's damage output significantly. First range damage was also increased from 26 to 28. The XQR also received a marginal buff, including an increased first range from 8m to 10m and a stage 3 range damage increase of 2.
It should be no surprise to players that these weapons were lethal last season; therefore, we strongly suspect their dominance to continue to be felt in COD Mobile Season 1 2022. The CBR4 is also expected to destroy enemies, particularly when wielded by those who can handle its odd recoil pattern. This is why we branded the CBR4 among the strongest SMGs going into 2022.
A-tier SMGs:
The PPSh-41 is a low-precision SMG with a large-capacity drum magazine that allows players to charge enemies with the advantage of non-aimed fire. Given this, we suspect that the PPSh-41 will be a strong S- or A-tier weapon, especially when paired with the right attachments.
Otherwise, COD Mobile players can rely on "old faithful" like the RUS-79U, Fennec or MX9 to pack high damage with a solid fire rate.
B-tier SMGs:
- GKS
- AGR 556
- HG40
The B-tier SMGs might be viable; however, they require the perfect loadout to contend with other weapons on this list. For example, the GKS has a slow ADS time and significant damage dropoff at range; however, Gunsmith can ameliorate this.
C-tier SMGs:
- Pharo
- Razorback
- Cordite
D-tier SMG:
- MSMC
- PDW-57
- Chicom
We strongly advise against using either of these weapons this season. Owing to a lack of buffs, they remain weak picks in the present meta.
And that's it! That completes our list of the best SMGs in COD Mobile Season 1 2022, ranked from best to worst. If you disagree with our ranking, then unlucky for you -- we don't care.
