Along with retaining some popular features, Modern Warfare 3 is also adding some new mechanics, such as the Tac-Stance. This new movement option allows you to fire your weapon in a canted position.
But what is the Tac-Stance exactly, and how does it work? Here's all you need to know about this new movement mechanic.
Modern Warfare 3 Tac-Stance Movement Explained
Tac-Stance is a new way of shooting a weapon in Modern Warfare 3, bridging the gap between hip fire and aiming down sights (ADS). When using Tac-Stance, your character holds your weapon at an angle, which gives you more mobility and faster handling than ADS.
When entering tight hallways and cramped rooms, toggle Tac-Stance on to improve weapon performance and win the fight. During this time frame, the operator unshoulders the weapon and holds it in a canted firing position.

Apart from this, the game gives you the freedom to toggle in and out of Tac-Stance dynamically while aiming down sights. Finally, it's worth noting that your character will, by default, fire in Tac-Stance while Sliding.
Here are a few benefits of using Tac-Stance over ADS:
- When you use Tac-Stance, you can move faster than when you use ADS. This allows you to strafe, dodge, and maneuver more easily while shooting your enemies.
- The mechanic offers better mobility and handling at the cost of precise accuracy.
- It is designed to be used in aggressive, close-quarter combat situations.
So that's everything we know so far about the new Tac-Stance movement mechanic. It remains to be seen how will it perform when the game enters the early access stage. Apart from the new shiny innovations, Modern Warfare 3 also inherits classic features like slide-cancelling and reload animations from its predecessor.
