The excitement builds as we get more information about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Each year, the franchise gets a new instalment, and fans are always excited to sink their teeth into the next title. Now that we are fast-approaching the release date for Modern Warfare 3, Activision is giving fans a lot of new information on what to expect.
One thing that players always look forward to in Call of Duty is its Multiplayer. Some will go the extra mile to make sure they can get into Multiplayer earlier than others. But there are some who are very excited about the game's campaign and Activision has confirmed that a number of new features are on the way this time around. Here, we are going to talk about the new Open Combat Missions in Modern Warfare 3.
What Are Open Combat Missions In Modern Warfare 3?
Despite the hype around Multiplayer, Call of Duty's campaigns have a lot to offer. This is going to be especially true in Modern Warfare 3 with it being a direct sequel to the campaign of Modern Warfare 2. In a recent blog post, Activision talked about Open Combat Missions and what they are in Modern Warfare 3.
Open Combat Missions are essentially missions that allow you to decide how you want to approach them. In previous Call of Duty games, you would usually follow the linear path that the game gives you, perhaps with some room to explore the area that you are in. Now, Open Combat Missions will change campaign missions in a big way.
How Do Open Combat Missions Work In Modern Warfare 3?
From what was stated, Activision is allowing players to approach Modern Warfare 3 Open Combat Missions in their own way. Essentially, you get to choose if you want to approach a mission stealthy or loud. You could go into a mission with night vision goggles, or with suppressors on your guns to make sure you go completely unnoticed.
Or you can be extremely direct and go in with as many explosives as possible. At the time of writing, we don't yet know if you can decide a direction you want to take before the mission starts or during. It's also unclear how much variety you will actually get with these special missions or how frequently they appear. Activision claims that there will be an approach for all types of playstyles, so we will have to wait and see what kind of variety we will actually get when the game launches.
