Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Dark Creations First Honest Impressions

Come and check out our first impressions of Battlefield 2042, Season 6: Dark Creations
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Dark Creations First Honest Impressions
DICE

After spending a couple of hours playing Battlefield 2042's brand new season six content, known as "Dark Creations" on the new map "Redacted," it's safe to say Battlefield's heading in the familiar and nostalgic direction we've needed for years. The Redacted map itself provides a familiar feeling from Battlefield 3 and 4 days, with it being inspired by maps such as Operation Metro and Operation Locker; the community can finally rejoice over this release.

There are always two sides to every story, leading to the negative and confusing aspects of the season six content, such as releasing a map that doesn't collaborate with the subsidiary new content such as weapons, vehicles, and gadget implementations. Today, we're going to tell you our complete opinion on the new upcoming Battlefield 2042 Season Six: Dark Creations.

Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Map: Redacted

The new season 6 Battlefield map known as Redacted acts as an amazing and much-needed addition to Battlefield 2042, providing a very nostalgic fighting experience to those familiar with Battlefield 3 and 4. Players have needed a reminder of the core values of Battlefield and we firmly believe that Redacted provides a desirable and much missed experience. In complete honesty, Redacted is a direct replication of the map Operation Locker from Battlefield 4, but we have no problem with this, especially with the visual overhaul of the map.

The Redacted map is set inside a research facility Located in Outer Hebrides, Scotland, set to be harboring a disturbing secret. The map appears to be a testing facility where something has gone wrong, hence our presence. This backstory adds a freakish overtone to the map making it more enjoyable, especially with Halloween around the corner.

The most frustrating feature about the new map Redacted is all subsidiary season 6 content is rendered nearly useless with Redacted due to the playing style and map restrictions. For example, the new DMR known as the G428 is nearly impossible to use due to every player using submachine guns and running at the speed of sound and nobody uses the new medical or ammo pouches because the map is too fast-paced to consider support drops. Additionally, players aren't able to use vehicles on the new map, rendering the implementation of the YUV-2 "Pondhawk" (two-seated drone motorbike) utterly useless because of the vehicle restrictions.

Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Weapons

Whilst conducting our playtest of the new season, we made sure to give all the new weapons a try, including the much-anticipated VHX D3 assault rifle. It's safe to say the weapons are incredible additions to Battlefield 2042 and likely have longevity to them; players are going to use the weapons regularly instead of just on release day. The VHX D3 is likely going to dominate the new map Redacted because it's a compact assault rifle with a very quick rate of fire, leading to players clearing corridors and dropping bodies like you wouldn't believe.

The new L9CZ pistol has incredible accuracy, allowing players to take off heads quickly and precisely, being a vital addition to any recon role. However, when comparing it to the relevancy of the new Redacted map, the environment is simply too fast-paced to use a sidearm.

Battlefield 2042 Dark Creations Conclusion

Overall Season 6 provides a very nostalgic feeling that the Battlefield community needs, players have felt that Battlefield 2042 has striven too far from the core values and distinctions of a Battlefield game; Dark Creations reminds us of our past. The Redacted map is very enjoyable and very easily provides players with an immersive experience, allowing you to get lost in the gameplay. Players who are unsure of Season 6, Dark Creations, can play Battlefield 2042 for free between October 12-16, allowing players to test the game out themselves.
