Are you struggling to beat the Grym boss in the Adamantine Forge of Baldur's Gate 3? Finding this masterwork forge is a long and tedious journey in itself as you make your way across the entirety of Underdark to reach the Grymforge.
However, once you finally find the forge, there's a gigantic and terrifying boss battle waiting for you. Grym has a massive health bar and is resistant to almost every attack. While it may initially seem impossible to take down this ferocious boss, there is actually a quick and easy way to slay it in just a matter of a few seconds. Here's our guide, which explains how to easily beat Grym in Baldur's Gate 3.
How To Defeat Grym Boss In Baldur's Gate 3
You can beat Grym by being tactful. The trick is to lure the boss under the Crucible and pull the Forge Lever to trample it with the hammer and chuck away a third of its health. However, it's easier said than done.
Once Grym arrives, carefully send one of your party members (preferably a Barbarian like Karlach) to stand at the platform just beyond the Crucible. Send the other party members to stand near the Forge Lever.
Now, in the next turn, use the character near Crucible to deal a ranged attack on Grym. It would make that party member its prime focus for subsequent attacks. Grym will also try and get to them, and if you're lucky, stand near the Crucible. It's your cue to pull the lever and drop the hammer on top of it.
Doing so will stun Grym and make it immune to bludgeoning damage, which means no more hammer attacks. Thankfully, that one blow would drop its health from 200 to 60-70.
Stunning Grym will also summon three flying creatures. Ignore them for now and instead send one of your party members to the opposite end of the room to pull the Lava Valve. Grym can only take damage when the lava is flowing. If you have Misty Step, use it to teleport to the platform with the Lava Valve.
Once the lava is back, it's time to rain down attacks. If you sent Karlach to lure Grym, use her melee attacks to deal devastating damage. Make sure to keep an eye on your health, as the flying creatures may also focus on your character. If you have more than one melee character in your team, it's best to bring them near Grym to take out its remaining health. It's easy to miss ranged shots, and you can't afford to waste time in this battle.
Grym should be out in just a few hits, granted it doesn't take you out before then. The rest is easy. The flying creatures don't have much health, and since there are only three of them, you should be able to beat them easily.
Once the arena is clear, you can use the Adamantine Forge to craft high-tier weapons and armor. Also, don't forget to loot Grym's corpse for a Very Rare-tier Grymskull Helm.
And that's it! That concludes our guide on how to beat Grym in Baldur's Gate 3.
